‘Married at First Sight’ star Ryan De Nino dies at 40, family mourns reality TV alum
NEW JERSEY, US: ‘Married at First Sight’ alum Ryan De Nino died earlier this week. He was 40 years old and reportedly breathed his last in New Jersey.
His death was announced by his family, but they did not reveal the cause of his death.
Ryan De Nino’s sister remembers him as ‘fiercely loyal’
On August 11, the late reality star’s sister, Melissa DeNino, paid tribute to him on Facebook by posting several throwback photos with him and writing, “Ryan was so damn funny and witty. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved. He had a huge heart, always. I can’t explain what it’s like to lose a sibling.”
“Someone who’s been there from the beginning and shares the same memories. No matter what we were going through, I loved him immensely. Life as I know it will never be the same,” she added.
Ryan De Nino appeared on ‘Married at First Sight’ season 2
Ryan reportedly appeared on ‘Married at First Sight’ season 2 in 2015, where he was paired with Jessica Castro after they met for the first time at the altar. The two got married as part of the show’s concept, but their relationship crumbled soon after the show.
They eventually divorced. At the time, the show’s production company, Kinetic Content, told PEOPLE, “We don’t know all the details and can’t comment on the specifics. What we can say is that unfortunately, couples on the show can go through real divorces, and divorce can often be difficult.”
“The experts on our show have the best of intentions and highest hopes for success for each couple. After undergoing extensive background and psychological checks by third parties, couples agree to be legally married on our show. We document their journey for six weeks after their wedding, but we can’t control how they behave, or govern their actions after production,” the company added.
Kinetic Content also shared its best wishes for Ryan De Nino and his ex-wife, stating, “Our thoughts are with these individuals, and as always we have offered each of them significant aftercare resources. We wish them nothing but the best and hope they have a bright future ahead of them.”
Jessica Castro sends condolences to Ryan De Nino’s family
Following Ryan De Nino’s death, Castro issued a statement, saying, “I have not had contact with Ryan in years so I have/had no idea what his life entailed. However, I do send my sincerest condolences to his family during this very difficult time.”
“I can not imagine what they are going through. May he rest peacefully,” she added.
