Martin Scorsese’s daughter Francesca blasts vile trolls calling her ‘ugly and fat’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Martin Scorsese’s youngest daughter Francesca Scorsese has hit back at internet trolls who made fun of her looks after she announced a major career opportunity.
The 26-year-old actress had shared about getting a role in Season 2 of Prime Video’s ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’. But instead of congratulatory comments, she was mercilessly trolled online.
Francesca Scorsese blasts trolls
Francesca slammed her critics in a TikTok video posted on Saturday, May 23, saying, “On my most recent repost about this new amazing role that I just got. It has some of the worst comments I have ever seen about me.”
“I’ve gotten hate for years. Okay, it just comes with the territory. But this is something else,” she noted, before further explaining that “if you go on people’s videos and you seek out negativity, you’re a very, very sad person.”
Francesca Scorsese questions the importance of looks
The ‘We Are Who We Are’ star then went on to mentioned that trolls have compared her "to a fridge, or Miss Piggy, or saying I have a face for radio and that I’m incredibly ugly and fat.”
Francesca, however, also stated that she knows that she’s “not the most beautiful girl in the world. I’m not the skinniest girl in the whole world. I’m chubby, I know it. But like, what the f–k does it matter?”
“Go outside on the street, look at people around you. Like, look at your mom, look at your f--king sisters…” she fired at the trolls.
Francesca Scorsese asserts she's doing fine
Also in her response video, Francesca revealed that because of the trolls she had deleted X. But she feels “like TikTok is kind of becoming that place now. And it’s just upsetting.”
“There’s so many trolls and so many bots and people that just go on to just try to ruin somebody’s day or make somebody feel like s–t. This is the kind of thing that causes people to lose their lives, like, your words have power behind them,” the filmmaker added.
Concluding her post, Francesca asserted that she’s fine and “strong” but she “just want[s] TikTok to be a better place. Like I feel like it used to be.”
The legendary filmmaker Martin welcomed Francesca with his wife, Helen Morris, in 1999.
He’s also the father of two daughters — Cathy, 60, and Domenica, 49 — whom he had with former wives Laraine Marie Brennan and Julia Cameron, respectively.
