MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Max Azzarello, a Florida native, tragically died after sustaining severe burn injuries when he set himself on fire near the courthouse where former President Donald Trump is being tried on April 19.

Following the horrific incident, it has been reported that Azzarello donated his kidneys, potentially saving two lives before his death.

The news of Azzarello's actions rippled through social media, sparking varied reactions. While some termed it as 'horrifying,' further investigation unveiled aspects of his past, including three previous arrests, one for disturbing the peace in Florida.

Max Azzarello was an organ donor and donated his kidneys to two patients

According to the New York Post, Azzarello tragically took his own life near the courthouse where former President Trump is being tried.

He had registered as an organ donor, and his kidneys have already been given to two patients in need, according to LiveOnNY, an organization that coordinates transplants.

Leonard Achan, president of LiveOnNY, expressed condolences to Azzarello's family and friends, stating, “Both of Mr Azzarello’s kidneys were transplanted, and he was able to save two people’s lives on the national waitlist. We extend our deepest condolences to Mr Azzarello’s family and friends during this difficult time,” he continued. “Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”

Azzarello, 37, died hours after setting himself on fire in Collect Pond Park, across from teh courthouose where Trump's trial is being held. Police responded swiftly, and an ambulance rushed him to a nearby burn unit. Despite efforts to save him, he died around 10:30 pm, the New York Post states.

Described as an investigative researcher who delved into conspiracy theories, Azzarello had traveled from Florida to New York City. Witnesses saw him holding a sign accusing Trump of supporting a fascist coup along with current POTUS Joe Biden before his tragic act.
