Meghan Markle 'furious' over King Charles' new jam success but Prince Harry 'holding her back'
TETBURY, GLOUCESTERSHIRE: According to a source, Meghan Markle is "furious" over King Charles' recent launch of his organic Highgrove Royal Estate Honey. She is said to be contemplating a confrontation with him, but Prince Harry has stepped in to intervene.
Although the official launch date of her brand has yet to be determined, her promotional efforts have been overshadowed by the King’s recent release.
King Charles launches organic honey similar to Meghan Markle's brand
At 75 years old, King Charles unveiled his latest product, crafted by the bees on his private Highgrove Estate, a sper OK! Magazine.
This organic honey, priced at $30 for a 12-ounce jar, is praised for its "beautifully delicate" taste and is regarded as a "fantastic gift for food enthusiasts," featuring a unique lime flavor.
This launch follows the Duchess of Sussex's introduction of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
Meghan's brand, which seems to compete with King Charles' venture, will feature a range of products including homeware, as well as butters, jams, and marmalades.
A source suggests that Markle views King Charles' latest product launch as a strategic move and is considering addressing him directly.
However, Prince Harry is reportedly "holding her back."
Additionally, Meghan's trademark application indicates plans to expand into workout gear and dog treats. She has already gifted jars of jam made from fruit grown in her Montecito garden to friends and celebrities, and she might follow King Charles' lead by producing her jam.
Who owns Highgrove house?
Highgrove, including the house, garden, and Duchy Home Farm, was previously owned by the Duchy of Cornwall and has now been inherited by Prince William, the new Prince of Wales.
The Highgrove Gardens website notes that "Highgrove is the family home of Their Majesties The King Charles III and The Queen Consort."
His Majesty King Charles III came to Highgrove in 1980 and the house and gardens have since undergone many thoughtful innovations.
The King’s Highgrove Shop features an assortment of preserves and savory products, with all profits directed towards charitable causes.
This recent introduction of honey coincides with reports that Meghan is preparing to unveil a rose wine for her brand.
Since the property is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall, control of Highgrove House was transferred to William, Prince of Wales, when he became Duke of Cornwall on September 8, 2022, following his father's accession to the throne.
The King now rents the house from the Duchy as his country residence.
