Meghan Markle once revealed she failed a New Year vow to quit 'unladylike' habit after having few drinks
MONTECITO CALIFORNIA: Many people use New Year's Eve to make plans and resolutions for the future, and Meghan Markle is no different. Back in 2016, she also made a few resolutions but seems like it has been tough for her to carry it out.
The Duchess of Sussex once revealed on her former lifestyle blog, The Tig, that she took a resolution to quit a certain "unladylike" habit. She admitted to her desire to stop biting her nails, among other things that occur after "a couple of drinks," according to Mirror.
Meghan Markle once revealed she failed to adhere to New Year's resolution
In a blog post, Meghan Markle listed the habits she had hoped to break in 2015 but failed to do so. She wrote in the January 1, 2016, post, "Run a marathon. Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. Re-learn French. These makeup my New Year's resolution list nearly every year (AKA actually every)."
The Duchess of Sussex further said, "The marathon hasn't happened. The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple of drinks."
Markle continued, "Then there's the French – a language I studied through high school and then lost as I immersed myself in speaking Spanish with the Argentinians during my stint in Buenos Aires. I have put my little Rosetta Stone headset in my eager ears every year, resolving to do interviews en francais, but much to my chagrin, it hasn't stuck."
She added, "And when it comes to the biting of the nails well, it still happens with a turbulent flight or a stressful day. It's unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing. Dammit."
She wrote that for this new year (2016), the only thing she aims to do is to approach life playfully.
"To laugh and enjoy, to keep my standards high but my level of self-acceptance higher. My New Year's resolution is to leave room for magic. To make my plans, and be okay if they sometimes break. To set my goals, but to be open to change," she mentioned.
Notably, it is unclear if Markle has made any resolutions for 2025, but she does have plenty of things to look forward to. She will be launching her brand new Netflix cooking show which will tie in with her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, according to the outlet.
Moreover, she will be joining Prince Harry in Canada in February for the Invictus Games, which are taking place in Vancouver and Whistler.
Meghan Markle faces criticism for being too snobby to socialize
Meghan Markle faced criticism from her neighbors for choosing not to socialize much with the multi-millionaire community of Montecito in California, reported Radar Online.
She and Prince Harry moved to the town in July 2020 from Los Angeles after giving up their royal duties. Since then, she has been spotted with a few Hollywood elites, such as filmmaker Tyler Perry and music producer David Foster.
German network ZDF made a documentary showcasing Prince Harry's journey from being one of the most popular faces in the royal family of England to his comparatively quieter life in the US with Meghan Markle and their children - Archie and Lilibet.
In the documentary, Richard Mineards called out Markle by stating, "I personally don't think that Meghan is an asset to our community. She doesn't really go out or get involved with the community."
He noted, "Harry has to a certain extent because he's quite jolly, but Meghan doesn't seem to get seen anywhere" but was contradicted by an unnamed insider source.
The insider said, "They keep themselves to themselves. I haven't seen Harry around much. Normally when you see him around here, he's walking his Labrador on the beach or his bicycle, followed by his security in a Range Rover."
