Meghan Markle 'wants to make peace' with Kate Middleton amid cancer diagnosis as she 'regrets' royal feud
MONTECITO, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle is reportedly feeling “regret” over her royal feud and “wants to make peace” with Kate Middleton.
It has recently been revealed that the Duchess of Sussex is ready to bury the hatchet once and for all with the Princess of Wales despite “genuinely feeling hurt” over the feud.
Though Markle last saw the princess in September 2022, during the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, insiders shared that the ‘Suits’ alum is now willing to mend fences.
Meghan Markle wants to mend her relationship with Kate Middleton
Being the wives of two of the most famous royal princes, Middleton and Markle started off amicably.
However, over the years, the relationship deteriorated with the duchess giving rise to speculations of a feud during her and Prince Harry’s infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey where she claimed to have received ill treatment from palace staff.
The alleged feud escalated following the release of their Netflix documentary ‘Harry & Meghan’ and the publication of the Duke of Sussex’s memoir ‘Spare’, per New York Post.
The feud also created a chasm between Harry and his elder brother Prince William.
However, per the sources, Markle is now ready to bury the past and start afresh as an insider recently shared with InTouch, “She wants to make peace with Kate. She doesn’t want any bad blood between them.”
They continued, “Meghan’s friends say she regrets how things went down and she never meant any harm to Kate. Though she must realize she could’ve done things differently.”
“Meghan’s been going out of her way to show concern for Kate in this difficult time,” added the source.
It is not only Meghan who is willing to mend the fence as even Harry is willing to move back to the UK. After stepping down from their royal duties in early 2020, the Sussexes relocated to Montecito, California.
Last week, a source shared with Express, “[Prince] Harry is more willing to move on, let’s just say that.”
They added that even Meghan is willing to have a conversation or two with the Firm to get things back in order.
“It’s not a case of Meghan being difficult, she genuinely feels hurt and would like some kind of sit-down to hash things through — but that’s not something the other side is willing to consider at this time,” shared the source.
Meghan Markle wants to mend relationships
Last month, a source claimed something similar when they said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been following Kate’s cancer journey while expressing a keen desire to reunite with her.
The source shared with Closer, “Both Harry and Meghan have been following Kate’s recovery with huge interest, but sadly it’s had to be more from afar because their lines of communication with the palace and the Waleses, in particular, are very limited, to say the least.”
They continued, “They have had enough information to know that people are excited about the idea of a comeback for Kate and they’re both relieved and happy to hear that she’s on the mend and may soon be well enough to return to her duties.”
“They’ve jointly reached out to send well wishes, but they’re still not really in a place with Kate to warrant much of a response,” said the insider, adding, it “hasn’t stopped them from trying to connect.”
They added, “And, despite all their bad blood, her heart does go out to Kate — she can only imagine how hard this situation must be for her.”
“Meghan has made it clear she’d love nothing more than to move past all the nonsense and find a way towards healing for everyone’s sake. She’s ready to let the anger and bitterness go,” the insider added.
