LUMBER RIVER STATE PARK, SOUTH CAROLINA: Two weeks before her suicide by headshot, Mica Miller allegedly accused her pastor husband of sharing her explicit pictures online.
The 30-year-old reported that her estranged husband, 44-year-old John-Paul Miller, had shared an explicit photo of her on Facebook, prompting her to contact the Myrtle Beach Police Department on April 8.
Mica Miller accused John-Paul of posting her explicit pictures online
John-Paul, the charismatic pastor of the town's Solid Rock Church in South Carolina, is charged with posting the photo to the group "big b***s and nice curves" and even tagging an old account that Mica couldn't access.
According to a police report that Daily Mail obtained, Mica admitted to the authorities that she had sent her husband the picture six months earlier.
Mica Miller was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Lumber River State Park in North Carolina, a few days after she received divorce papers.
The complaint states that the claimant received notification that her soon-to-be ex-husband had shared and tagged her old Facebook account with a picture of her in her underwear, which allowed him to view it.
"The complainant further advised that he is the only person she has ever sent that type of photo to. Although the complainants' breasts are exposed the nipple is blurred out, not meeting the SC Code of Law for nudity."
Additionally, officers informed Mica that there was "no way to prove he was the one who posted the photo" and that the image had been posted anonymously.
Mica and her husband John-Paul have multiple police reports filed in their names
The authorities told Mica that "once a photo is sent the person who the photo was sent to is now the owner of the photo." This is just one of the numerous police reports that Mica and her husband have on file in their names.
They contacted the authorities multiple times before she died on April 27. John-Paul asserted earlier this month that Mica and her family were "harassing him" on social media and that his wife's post about "abuse" would harm his reputation.
Since he had "no texts or proof" to support the claims, the officers rejected his claims and told him to get in touch with them again if he continued to feel harassed.
Mica Miller talked about 'abusive relationship'
Mica stated in a Facebook video on March 22 that "you don't have to stay in an abusive relationship."
She went on to say, "Whether that's sexual, whether that's somebody forcing you to take illegal drugs or alcohol abuse, or physical abuse, psychological abuse, making you think that this is all your fault or that you're a bad mom or a bad husband or you're not giving it your all when you know you are."
She added, "God hates divorce, but why? According to everybody that I've asked and the scriptures I've seen it's because it hurts people. But does abuse hurt people. How do you think God feels about that?"
John-Paul further asserted that on February 14, Mica transferred money to her account from a church account that had been established for a mission trip to Kenya.
The report verified that an inquiry was in progress. Mica later reported on March 14 and 26 that she had discovered a tracking device on her car, which was attached by magnets beneath the chassis.
Mica informed the police that she and her husband had been separated since January of that year when they met with them at Coastal Grand Mall.
"The complainant stated that she has known her husband since she was ten years old and that he 'groomed' her while she worked for him at Solid Rock Church until they were married," the report adds.
Mica Miller claimed her husband 'groomed' her
Mica also claimed that her husband had "groomed" her since she was ten years old. Their marriage broke down in February 2023, according to another police report regarding the purported theft of her silver Honda Accord.
"When the complainant was discharged from the hospital, the staff informed her that her husband picked up her purse and her keys," the report stated.
The complainant believed her husband had "stolen" her hospital care while she was there and had falsely started her involuntary hospitalization. Her husband informed investigators that his wife had been experiencing a "reckless episode" as a result of her poor mental state.
He claimed that because the incidents were yearly crises, John-Paul would overspend around Christmas. The former pastor informed the police that he had taken possession of the car to stop it from being sold and that he would not return it for a month to let the situation blow over.
John-Paul announced Mica's death at a Sunday (April 28) service, describing it as "self-induced."
Mica filed for divorce in October 2023 and later filed for Separate Support and Maintenance. John-Paul was pursuing another woman while still legally married and a waitress revealed flirty messages with her. Mica's death is still under investigation.
