HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA: Miley Cyrus has always turned heartbreak into powerful music, but this time, the singer got emotional while celebrating one of the biggest moments of her career. The singer-actress, 33, received her star on the Hollywood 'Walk of Fame' on Friday, May 22, surrounded by her closest friends and family members.

During the emotional ceremony, Miley thanked her loved ones for standing by her side through every high and low, and for "facing her fears" along the way. At one point, the 'Flowers' singer became visibly emotional while addressing the crowd.

“This is where it gets me,” the singer said during her speech as she tried to hold back tears.

Miley Cyrus thanks her family in emotional speech

The ceremony turned into a full support squad moment as Miley was joined by her mother, Tish Cyrus, sister Brandi Cyrus, and fiancé Maxx Morando. Friends Donatella Versace and Anya Taylor-Joy were also present and delivered speeches at the event. However, her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, did not attend the ceremony.

Cyrus made sure to give her family and close friends respect while accepting her star. The singer couldn’t hold back her emotions while thanking the people who stood beside her through every phase of life.

Getting visibly emotional during her speech, Cyrus said, "To my family, my future family, parents, my mom, my siblings, my friends, my collaborators, thank you for loving and supporting not only the choices that I make, but my fears, and then facing them with me."

The singer continued with tears in her eyes, "Today is something that I'll never forget, and I'm always going to cherish. I love you all so much, thank you," before putting on her sunglasses to hide her emotions.

Reflecting on the honour, Miley also shared an emotional message about legacy and living in the moment. "This star somehow represents immortality, and although I love the lyric, the fact that I won't is what creates the urgency that sets my heart on fire," she said.

"This moment will live forever, thank you to everyone in my life who made it possible. I am grateful to share this star with you."

Miley Cyrus revives Heidi Klum’s vintage Versace dress for 'Walk of Fame' moment

Cyrus made sure her outfit matched the energy of her big Hollywood moment. The singer stunned in a dramatic sheer Versace dress featuring lace details, bold cutouts, and metallic web-like detailing.

The vintage look came from Donatella Versace’s Fall 2015 collection and was previously worn by Heidi Klum at the amfAR Gala in Milan the same year. While Heidi styled the dress with an updo, Miley gave it her own vibe with loose waves and side-swept bangs.

Talking about the outfit, Miley shared, “And I’m in Versace hand-picked from the atelier archives by Donatella herself, which makes it even more fun, and even more fierce and even more fabulous.”
