WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump has once again found himself embroiled in controversy as he boasted about his “beautiful” relationship with the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The former commander-in-chief shared with podcaster Tim Pool that he was warned against North Korea by Barack Obama as the “single greatest threat” to the US but he began a great bond with Jong Un, as reported by HuffPost.

Donald Trump says Kim Jong Un ‘respects’ him

Trump told Pool, “It boiled down to something that was very beautiful, the way it happened, and I got along with him very well.”

He further explained, “He respected me, I respected him,” before calling the 40-year-old Supreme Leader of North Korea, a “very smart guy, very strong guy” and the “absolute leader.”

Some years ago, Trump had reportedly told journalist Bob Woodward that he was the one who knew Jong Un well.

“The word chemistry. You meet somebody and you have a good chemistry. You meet a woman. In one second, you know whether or not it’s all going to happen,” he added.

Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un called ‘narcissists’

Meanwhile, the 77-year-old Republican leader has been thrashed online for his recent comments on Jong Un.

A user on X tweeted, “I prefer my president who doesn’t praise dictators.”

Another user commented, “They do say narcissists attract.”

One user wrote, “Does he literally not realize that he does not have to kotow to these authoritarian Dictators? He could actually have a spine... But we all know the truth, he has none!”

“America doesn't want ‘an absolute leader’ in the sense that Trump imagines it to mean. We want someone who is qualified and capable of leading, but also someone who is willing to concede if he loses the next election,” a user stated.

“What an idiot and a traitor!” one shared.

“Not only does Trump have a limited vocabulary, where everything is beautiful, he is a moronic idiot who has been sheltered by wealth his entire life. He is the destroyer of nations, a bomb waiting to explode,” a critic mentioned.

Another critic noted, “Seriously this should worry any sane person. Trump loves dictators and wants to be one. He’s a threat to our democracy, military, and sane Americans.”

“Only a basic fool could possibly find a reason to respect Un, or any of the weak dictators that only hold power through force, and not the free will of the people. Bullies are heroes in little bully Trump's mind,” a tweet read.
