RICHMOND, VIRGINIA: During a campaign rally in Virginia ahead of next week’s Super Tuesday, former President Donald Trump mistook Joe Biden for Barack Obama for the third time in under six months.

The verbal slip-up occurred when the MAGA figurehead addressed a large gathering of his ever-ardent supporters at the Greater Richmond Convention Center on Saturday evening, per Daily Mail.

Despite his previous losses in the state, Trump urged GOP voters to show up at the polls to vote for him.

What prompted the former POTUS to commit the verbal gaffe onstage?

While discussing his Democratic opponent, the 77-year-old GOP presidential frontrunner attempted to criticize incumbent President Joe Biden for not having the respect of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

However, Trump missed the punchline by inadvertently confusing the sitting Presidents of the two nations prompting a slip-up onstage which detracted from his argument and weakened his overall position.

“Putin has so little respect for Obama that he's starting to throw around the nuclear word,” Trump remarked.

“You heard that, nuclear. He's starting to talk nuclear weapons today,” the former President added.

Trump then branded Biden a “fool” by asserting onstage, “We have a fool, a fool as a president.”

The same day, Trump attended a campaign rally in North Carolina where he had a hard time pronouncing Venezuela.

Just over a month ago during his interview on Fox News, Trump committed the same blunder while rambling about “being the president“ and having “immunity” to host Sean Hannity.

Trump made an unrelated Obama reference while discussing Biden, saying, “Like Obama dropped missiles and they ended up hitting a kindergarten or school or the apartment house, a lot of people were killed.”

“Well, if that's the case, he's going to end up being indicted when he leaves office. He meant well, the missile went in the wrong direction and other things,” he remarked, citing former POTUS Barack Obama as if he were the sitting Commander-in-Chief.

During a rally in Claremont, New Hampshire, in November, last year, the former President made an inadvertent error when referring to his opponent in the 2020 Presidential election.

Despite consistently referring to his opponent as "Sleepy Joe," Trump mistakenly referred to former President Barack Obama as the current President.

Trump recounted a story from the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban, who allegedly called on President Obama to resign and be replaced by Trump.

He addressed the crowd, “The head of Hungary Viktor Orban, very powerful within his country and outside of his country, they were interviewing him two weeks ago and said what would advise President Obama?”

“The whole world seems to be exploding and imploding. He said, ‘It's very simple, he should immediately resign and replace him with President Trump who kept the world safe,'” Trump continued.

However, Trump's error regarding Obama's status as the current President raises concerns about his attention to detail and accuracy in public speaking.

Notably, both Biden, 81, and Trump, 77, have faced major criticism due to their age, sparking speculation that the party's stalwarts may be suffering from memory problems.

Internet slams the media for picking on Biden's slip-ups while ignoring Trump's blunders

People on X lambasted the legacy media for preferential treatment of former President Donald Trump when it comes to his obvious mistakes onstage at rallies and in interviews.

One X user remarked, "Beats me !!!"

Another user said, "It's astonishing how Trump's slip-ups are often overlooked while the smallest mistakes from others are magnified. Double standards at their finest!"

Another user wrote, "So he wasn't being sarcastic? The audience was stunned and silent. They know he's toast."

"How come he’s so hung up on Former President Obama that he can’t remember who the current President is,I bet Putin knows," one user claimed.

Another X user quipped, "What makes you think his followers are giving him a pass? By God if Trump says Obama is president, Obama is president. Bless."

One user tweeted, "I have no idea. Maybe Biden should just make these into political ads. Then everyone would see them"
