CONWAY, SOUTH CAROLINA: Donald Trump insinuated at a campaign rally in Conway, South Carolina, that former President Barack Obama is covertly controlling the US.

According to Mediaite, while addressing his supporters on Saturday, February 10, the 77-year-old Republican presidential frontrunner also suggested that President Joe Biden is not mentally capable of running the country, citing his inability to "find his way off the stage."

Trump then went on to suggest that Obama is the one who is really running the White House through Biden, his former vice president.

What did Trump say during his South Carolina rally on Saturday?

With one eye on the Palmetto State primary on February 24, Trump is trying to secure the Republican presidential nomination for the third consecutive time.

The ex-POTUS went on his trademark tirade during his speech on Saturday, making sure to stress former President Barack Obama's middle name "Hussein," which was received with laughs from his ever-ardent supporters present in the audience.

Trump said, "I don’t think he knows what the hell he’s doing anyways. I always say by the people who surround him or sometimes I’ll interchange, I’ll say, Barack Hussein Obama. But every time I say that the fake news. Oh, that’s a lot of fake news back there…Every time I say it. Anytime I want to have a little fun, governor. We have fun."

He asserted, "Even though the country’s going to hell, we have to have a little bit of fun."

"But every time I interchange Barack Hussein…remember Rush Limbaugh, he’d go, Barack Hussein Obama. I wonder what he was getting at," remarked the ex-POTUS.

"But every time I do interchanging, we do a little interchanging. They say he doesn’t know who the president is. He thinks it’s Barack Obama. I say no, no, but I think Barack Obama has a lot to do with the running of the country right now, and we can’t let that happen. He has a lot to do with it," claimed Trump.

The GOP frontrunner and his congressional allies have capitalized on special counsel Robert Hur's recent report describing Biden as an "elderly man with a poor memory" to argue that he is not capable enough to run for reelection.

Hur, who was assigned by US Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate Biden's handling of confidential documents, claimed in his 388-page report that the president had a "hazy" memory of the timeline of his previous term as vice president as well as the death of his son Beau.

Internet reacts to Donald Trump suggesting that Barack Obama is running the US through President Joe Biden

Soon after Trump's wild theory, which alleges that his predecessor Obama is still in cahoots with Biden to run the country from the background, came to light, netizens couldn't help but ridicule the GOP frontrunner.

One remarked, "wait what? How?" and another added, "At what point can he be repeatedly sued for libel and slander. Bc this is just getting crazier and crazier."

"Sounds like he’s confused. Joe Biden is the President not Obama. I don’t think Trump has the mental capacity to be president," said a person.

Someone else pointed out, "President Trump's statement suggests concerns about the influence of former President Obama on current affairs. Such assertions should be substantiated with evidence to ensure constructive discourse and avoid unfounded speculation."

An individual opined, "This country would be much better off if Obama were running it."
