WASHINGTON, DC: Amid growing speculation over his recent absence from public events, President Donald Trump has addressed mounting health rumors in a post on Truth Social.

The online chatter, fueled by images showing swollen legs and bruised hands, has sparked theories about Trump's health. The rumors intensified after Vice President JD Vance made cryptic remarks about being prepared for any "terrible tragedy," even as he insisted that the 79-year-old remains in "incredibly good health."

President Donald Trump broke his weekend silence on Sunday, August 31, with a bold statement: “NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE.”

The message, posted to Truth Social, also included an unexpected brag, “Also, DC IS A CRIME FREE ZONE!” referencing a recent federal move giving the White House authority over the DC Metropolitan Police Department.

Trump’s post came after a quiet few days spent golfing at his Virginia resort, during which his absence from public events fueled conspiracy theories and morbid rumors.

Social media buzzed with concern and mockery as the hashtag #TrumpIsDead trended on X (formerly Twitter), especially after the White House released a blank public schedule on Friday.

But the rumors were swiftly put to rest when Trump was spotted Saturday heading to the golf course with his granddaughter, Kai Trump, in Sterling, Virginia.

Questions about Trump’s health began circulating recently after a visible bruise was spotted on his right hand during multiple public appearances. In some images, the area appeared to be covered with makeup, further fueling speculation.

A bruise is visible on the back of U.S. President Donald Trump's right hand during a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung in the Oval Office at the White House on August 25, 2025 in Washington, DC. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked about the bruising in February and she responded,

In response, Trump’s physician, Dr Sean Barbabella, released a statement clarifying the situation. He explained that the discoloration was “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”

Dr Barbabella also emphasized that the president remains in “excellent cognitive and physical health.”

Internet reacts as Trump brags about health

As Donald Trump responded to the ongoing health rumors, many internet users and supporters flooded his post with messages of support and admiration.

One Truth Social user wrote, "You are a real powerhouse Sir! You look so young and healthy, with the energy of a 30 year old! Best President ever!" and another said, "You are a great Golfer and fantastic athlete! I love seeing you on the course, you deserve a few hours off, you are the hardest working President ever! No one has ever accomplished in eight months what you have done!"

A person expressed, "I pray there will be a way! We need this winning to continue! We need another four years of this! 🙏🏻💛 This is the #GoldenAge of @realDonaldTrump only he can do it! He’s working true miracles!" while another supporter said, "Good we need you for 2028! #Trump2028."

"Congratulations Mr President on your health report, and your Great success in making America Great Again as well as Safe Again 🏆," read another comment.

One shared an elaborate note, writing, "The guy hasn't taken a single break--not even in the early morning hours--since he took office. God forbid he might be allowed to spend a few days NOT in a public facing mtg. He has every right to take a few days away from interviews, mtgs, conferences, and everything else to enjoy his holiday and spend some time with his family. These tools whining abt him not having any 'events' in 3 days are the same ones who had no problem lying abt Biden's inability to function for 3 years."

"May you always have great health, Mr President! You deserve it!" another mentioned.
