Aaron Rodgers clarifies his remarks implying Jimmy Kimmel's inclusion in Jeffrey Epstein's list
MANHATTAN, NEW YOR CITY: Aaron Rodgers has addressed the controversy surrounding his comments, acknowledging that they were misconstrued to imply that Jimmy Kimmel might be on the Jeffrey Epstein list.
He asserted that the remarks were taken "out of context" and criticized the lack of thorough viewership of the original clip.
Aaron Rodgers clarifies misunderstood comments about Kimmel and Epstein's list
On the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers had stated, "There's a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, who are hoping that list doesn't come out."
However, Rodgers later clarified that he did not intend to suggest that Kimmel was on the list.
his clarification came during an interview with Joe Rogan, where Rogan asked, "So when you were saying that he doesn't want that list to come out, you weren't saying that he was on that list?"
To which Rodgers replied emphatically, "No."
During the conversation with Rogan, the discussion turned to the widespread misinterpretation of Rodgers' comments.
Rogan suggested that many people had seen the clip "out of context," to which Rodgers responded, "Nobody watched the f***ing clip. That's why. They just saw a headline and [were like] 'oh it's the anti-vax guy again, let's hammer him.'"
Rodgers went on to explain to Rogan the sequence of events that led to his controversial statement on the 'McAfee show.'
He described feeling as though Kimmel had branded him as an "idiot" for believing in the existence of the list, leading to his reaction.
Rodgers elaborated, "He had gone on his show and called me a tinfoil-hat-wearing doofus... I thought he had said that I was an idiot for even thinking that there's a list out there."
He speculated that Kimmel might have misconstrued his remarks as an attempt to associate the list with recent UFO disclosures. Furthermore, Rodgers emphasized, "The list hasn't been released yet... Nobody's gone to jail."
Rodgers expresses understanding and relief and clarifies his stance on serious allegations
During his appearance on the 'McAfee Show' following the initial comment, Rodgers addressed the gravity of the situation. He emphasized, "I totally understand how serious an allegation of pedophilia would be... so for him to be upset about that, I get it."
Rodgers clarified that he would not make such a significant accusation without concrete evidence, stating, "I'm not stupid enough to accuse you of that with absolutely zero evidence, concrete evidence. That's ridiculous."
He expressed relief, saying, "I'm glad, and I think we can agree on something, is that 1, those crimes are heinous and 2, I'm glad you're not on the list."
The Epstein List referenced by Rodgers pertains to a 2015 civil defamation suit involving Jeffrey Epstein.
The recently disclosed deposition from this case includes the names of numerous individuals accused of engaging in sexual activities with underage girls.
However, Kimmel's name was not among those listed in the deposition, thus affirming his innocence.
