DETROIT, MICHIGAN: GOP nominee Donald Trump sparked outrage over social media with his closing remarks at a campaign rally in Detroit on Friday, October 18, reported Mediaite.

The former president urged women to push their 'fat' husbands to vote for him in the upcoming election, claiming that they would be lost without him being reinstated to the White House in November. Early voting in Detroit begins over the weekend and will go statewide on October 26.

Donald Trump calls husbands 'fat pigs' at Detroit rally

Donald Trump attempted to encourage his female supporters to go out and vote for him, saying, "Early voting is underway, so get everyone you know and go out and vote. Go tomorrow. It’s just starting. Go and vote. Make sure you vote and bring all our friends that want to vote for us."

"Tell them, 'Jill. Get your fat husband off the couch. Get that – get that fat pig off the couch. Tell him to go and vote for Trump. He’s going to save our country. Get that guy the hell off our… Get him up, Jill. Slap him around. Get him up! Get him up, Jill. We want him off the couch to get out and vote,'" he shared. "Bring your friends and get them out after all we have been through together."

The comments come at a time when the businessman is reportedly trailing with women voters nationally. A report by the Associated Press states that "women have emerged as a core weakness for Trump’s campaign, and he is viewed less favorably by women than men."
