WASHINGTON, DC: Attorney General Pam Bondi has confirmed that the Department of Justice is investigating what she describes as “lawfare” carried out during the Obama and Biden administrations, alleging that it amounts to an “ongoing criminal conspiracy.”

In an interview with 'Just The News', Bondi said that she directed federal prosecutors to examine what she called an “election-meddling conspiracy” that she claims was used to target President Donald Trump and his supporters while offering protection to prominent Democrats.

Focus on weaponization of law enforcement

Bondi said US attorneys and federal agents across the country are actively investigating alleged instances of government weaponization.

“At my direction, our US Attorneys and federal agents are actively investigating instances of government weaponization nationwide,” Bondi said. “This is a ten-year stain on the country committed by high-ranking officials against the American people.”

She added that the investigation is aimed at safeguarding civil liberties and ensuring accountability. “No one is above the law, even if they think they are,” Bondi said.

Russia probe and broader allegations

The report cited FBI Director Kash Patel, who has repeatedly argued that the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election was a “hoax.”

Patel has said the DOJ would uncover what he characterizes as the Democrats’ “weaponization” of federal law enforcement.

Editor-in-Chief John Solomon wrote that potential conspiracy charges could bypass statute-of-limitations concerns, arguing that such cases are treated as ongoing offenses, similar to organized crime investigations.

Pam Bondi claims bias against conservative figures

Bondi praised the DOJ and FBI for releasing what she called an “unprecedented number of documents” to Congress related to alleged government weaponization, saying the material “laid the predicate for a conspiracy case.”

According to Bondi, the evidence shows that federal agencies shielded political figures such as Hunter Biden and Hillary Clinton while aggressively pursuing conservatives.

“This evidence illustrates that the FBI shielded political figures like Hunter Biden and Hillary Clinton while pursuing conservatives for their beliefs,” she stated.

Bondi alleged that legal processes were used excessively rather than focusing on public safety threats such as violent crime and border security.

She also claimed that search warrants were executed despite concerns from within law enforcement that they were excessive.

According to the report, a significant portion of the investigation is centered in Florida, where President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence was searched by federal agents in 2022.

Bondi said the department’s actions reflect a renewed commitment to preventing election interference and restoring public trust in the justice system.
