Patrick threatens legal action over ‘vile’ conspiracy theories after Lindsay Clancy mistrial
PLYMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS: Patrick Clancy is threatening legal action over what his lawyer has called a “vile” campaign of conspiracy theories claiming he was involved in the deaths of his three children.
The warning comes just days after his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy,’s murder trial ended in a mistrial on September 4.
Patrick was ruled out as a suspect early in the investigation, but his lawyer says he and his family have faced months of online misinformation. Lindsay remains charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

Patrick Clancy lawyer threatens legal action over claims
Patrick Clancy’s lawyer, Howard Cooper, issued a strong statement Tuesday morning, saying the spread of false claims had gone too far.
“Enough is enough — this spread of blatant and baseless falsehoods must stop,” Cooper said.
He said Patrick and his family had been subjected to a “relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign.”
According to Cooper, the alleged campaign was promoted by “minor celebrities, so-called influencers and outright conspiracy theorists” who were seeking to boost their own profiles and profit from claims Cooper said they knew were false.
“Those responsible should understand that there will be consequences, and every appropriate measure will be pursued to hold them accountable, including legally,” Cooper added. “Law enforcement has been notified.”
Patrick had been ruled out as a suspect early in the investigation.
Evidence presented during the trial, including surveillance footage, phone records and a receipt, placed him at a pharmacy picking up medication around the time investigators believe the killings happened.
Lindsay Clancy mistrial fuels online claims against Patrick Clancy
The six-week trial ended in a mistrial on September 4 after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict on whether Lindsay Clancy was criminally responsible for the 2023 deaths of her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan.
The case drew intense attention, with hundreds of supporters gathering outside the courthouse for Lindsay.
Her legal team argued that she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis when the children were killed.
Patrick also testified during the trial and described each of his children to jurors. He said Cora loved princesses, Dawson's favorite show was “Paw Patrol,” and Callan was “a happy baby.”
Jurors also heard the 911 call Patrick made on January 24 after returning home and finding Lindsay injured outside before discovering the children in the basement.
Kevin Reddington backs Patrick Clancy after mistrial
Lindsay Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, has also spoken in support of Patrick despite representing Lindsay. “The guy's been through hell and back,” Reddington said.
He said Patrick had stood by Lindsay while she dealt with doctors and medications and continued to stand by her through his testimony.
“He's been there with her, and still stands by her by way of his testimony. And ... it's, I think it's just horrible what he's been going through,” Reddington told WBZ-TV.
Lindsay remains in state custody at a psychiatric hospital, where she has been held since before the trial began. Her next hearing is scheduled for September 29.
