LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Paul McCartney shared during a new podcast interview that his wife Nancy Shevell thinks Queen Elizabeth could have “fancied” him.

Paul McCartney says he 'love(s) the Queen'
McCartney appeared on the Tuesday, October 13, episode of ‘Good Hang with Amy Poehler’ podcast, where he was asked, “Did you meet someone who, you wanted their autograph, or you were blown away [because] you knew that they were a famous person?”
“The Queen,” the iconic musician immediately replied, before noting, “And that’s an autograph you’re not going to get. She’s great. I love the Queen.”
The late monarch was 25 when she was crowned in June 1953. At the time, McCartney was only 9.
Paul McCartney admitted he liked the Queen 'in other ways than we shouldn’t have liked her'
But the ‘Beatles’ star called the Queen “Babe” in his younger days. “She was a babe. We all used to think, ‘Wow, this is amazing.’ You know, like, having a king, he’s got this girl. This babe. So, we kind of liked her in other ways than we shouldn’t have liked her,” he recalled.
McCartney further asserted that “meeting her was special.”

During the podcast, the songwriter also revealed that he first met the Queen when he was 21. “Nancy, my wife now, she says, ‘She fancied you.’ Now, there’s no knowing if there’s any truth to that,” he told Poehler.
The 55-year-old actress then quipped, “Let’s say it’s true,” to which McCartney added, “I like to think it’s true.”
Poehler further noted that she believed Queen Elizabeth “would enjoy Nancy saying that” and “get a laugh out of that.”
“Well, she was a laugh. That’s one of the things I liked about [her]. She had a good sense of humor,” McCartney told the host.
