Harry has been particularly open about how becoming a father changed his outlook and strengthened his desire to break away from certain aspects of his own upbringing.  During a 2021 appearance on the 'Armchair Expert' podcast, he spoke candidly about ending cycles that can be passed down through generations.

“There’s a lot of genetic pain and suffering that gets passed on anyway,” Harry said. “As parents, we should be doing the most that we can to try to say, ‘You know what, that happened to me, I’m going to make sure it doesn’t happen to you.’”
