NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On the March 9 episode of 'Fox & Friends', co-host Will Cain was joined by former Democratic US representative Patrick Murphy to discuss the issue of 'uncommitted' voters faced by his party.

Broaching the topic, Cain said that top Democratic donors are worried by the trend, calling it "a siren, a clarion call", the energy behind which "is not something that should be ignored, taken lightly or dismissed".

Chances of 'uncommitted' voters returning to Biden

Murphy claimed that voting 'uncommitted' was a show of protest by Democrats, agreeing with Cain that it was over the difference of opinion they had with the President on issues surrounding Israel.

"People forget (that) Barack Obama had a double-digit percentage of uncommitted votes when he was running for re-election, and some folks were upset because Barack Obama, at that time, had tripled the amount of forces in Afghanistan to smoke out Bin Laden and bring him to justice," he pointed out.

"So much like today, yes, there are people who are doing a protest vote. But I do think they will come back and hopefully there will be a bilateral ceasefire before the end of the weekend..."

Murphy lauds Biden's SOTU address

Cain questioned Murphy on the lack of enthusiasm expressed by Biden voters, suggesting that it might lead to lower voter turnout for the incumbent even though his number of supporters remains the same.

Murphy replied that in terms of convincing citizens to re-elect him to the White House, Biden "had a home run at the State of the Union".

"People in the Democratic Party and some independents are really fired up that he gave a masterful performance," he continued. "(Biden) told people what he was going to do, even if they don't agree with all his policies. He was strong, he was in command..."

"The fact that he started out with Ukraine ... Ronald Reagan is turning in his grave because we are at the one-yard line. Russia has lost 100,000 troops in their invasion, they're having a hard time recruiting folks. We have got to make sure we unleash the arsenal of freedom here in America with our military might to help our allies, Ukraine and others," he added.
