WASHINGTON, DC: Melania Trump has kept herself away from the public eye for the majority of the time after taking on the role of the first lady for a second time, the Daily Mail reported on Monday, March 3.

The 54-year-old former model displayed a similar inclination during the first term of her husband, President Donald Trump. Since he was sworn into Office on January 20, Melania has been seen in public only a handful of times.

The first lady did not accompany the POTUS when he met with foreign leaders such as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, French President Emmanuel Macron, or Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Nor was she beside him when Trump attended Super Bowl LIX, becoming the first sitting president to attend the game.

There are only five posts on the official Instagram account of FLOTUS, one of which is her White House portrait. As per the publication, Melania has yet to hire a social secretary, and her Easty Wing staff comprises less than a dozen people.

Where had Melania Trump disappeared to for a month?

Melania Trump held her first solo event during her second term as first lady on Monday, March 3, when she went to Capitol Hill to support the 'TAKE IT DOWN' act, which protected citizens from deepfake and revenge adult videos.

Before that, the last time she was seen accompanying her husband Donald was on his trip to hurricane-devastated North Carolina on January 24 and then to the National Governors Association Dinner at the White House on February 22.

Her long absence from the public eye sparked various speculations about where the first lady could have been.

Her husband somewhat answered in his speech at the Governor's Dinner. "Let me begin by expressing our gratitude to the First Lady of the United States for hosting the dinner," said Trump. "She worked very hard on making sure everything was beautiful. She's very good at that... Thank you for doing such a great job, honey. Really great. Really beautiful."

The report further revealed that insiders claimed that Melania was more focused on her son Barron over the last month. The 18-year-old currently attends the Stern School of Business at New York University. Her priority the past month had been her son Barron, they added.

Another reason that kept her busy was her upcoming Amazon documentary. Melania reportedly pitched the documentary to Jeff Bezos when he was in Mar-a-Lago last December.

Amazon has signed a $40 million deal for the rights of the documentary based on her memoir 'Melania'.

The crew had unfettered access as the Trumps packed up from Mar-a-Lago and settled into the White House at the start of the year.

During the filming of the documentary, household staff were asked to sign waivers. The entire venture made the Secret Service nervous, according to the Daily Mail.

The shooting wrapped up in February, which is likely to provide Melania an opportunity to take up her normative duties as FLOTUS.

Social media users took to the comments section of the Daily Mail article and slammed First Lady Melania Trump for keeping away from the public eye.

"A cold and vacuous woman! Not a fan," wrote a person.

"Even she is embarrassed Trump and his new Electric Jesus boyfriend," shared another, calling out the POTUS and tech billionaire Elon Musk.

"She disappeared because she just doesn’t give A F! Most classless First Lady ever!" exclaimed a third.

"No one missed her," jibed a fourth.

"Because she is lazy and useless," quipped a fifth.
