Is Reba McEntire deaf?

Throughout her music career, Reba McEntire has faced numerous rumors, one of the most absurd being that she is secretly wearing hearing aids. One probable rationale for this rumor is that many musicians use earpieces to help maintain rhythm amid loud crowds, but this does not imply they have hearing loss; it’s simply a tool for modern performances. 

Another factor fueling the hearing aid speculation is her association with the Starkey Hearing Foundation, which supports individuals with hearing difficulties.

Despite these baseless claims, Nicki Swift has confirmed that McEntire is in good health and shows no signs of hearing loss. As of the end of October, the 'Somebody Should Leave' singer, known for addressing rumors about her career and personal life, has yet to comment on the hearing aid speculation.

In 2012, a viral story spread across the internet claiming that Reba McEntire, who is no stranger to bizarre rumors, had fallen to her death while hiking in the mountains of Austria. The Queen of Country quickly debunked the speculation by posting a tweet on X. 

She wrote, "There is a rumor going around that I died after falling off a mountain in Austria yesterday while shooting a movie. While I would love to be shooting a movie in Austria, I definitely did not fall off a mountain! Nor am I dead! I am alive and kicking!!! Oh well."

Reba McEntire moves 'Happy's Place' cast members to tears

Baseless rumors notwithstanding, Reba McEntire recently left her 'Happy’s Place' cast emotional and in tears after she revealed the original theme song for the upcoming NBC sitcom during a table read.

She announced to the cast, "I’m Reba McEntire and I have a little surprise today. Carole King and I wrote a song – ‘The Theme of Happy’s Place’ – and we’ve got it finished and now we’re gonna play it for everybody after table read." Many cast members were moved to tears, praising the song as truly amazing.

Discussing her collaboration with Carole King, McEntire shared, "I emailed her and told her the situation. She said that she'd love to help out. I hadn't seen her in maybe four years, but we're friends. I had the beginning and a chorus but mainly the melody."

She added, "Then Carole came in and wrote the lyrics and added a melody. I said, 'Carole, I really love my melody and I love your lyrics'.”

The theme song for 'Happy’s Place' was also co-written by Doug Sisemore and was released across all platforms on October 11, while the series premiered on October 18 on NBC.
