LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Robert Downey Jr proved once again that some things never change - especially when it comes to making an entrance.

The actor turned heads at CinemaCon 2026 when he walked onto the stage in true Tony Stark fashion, instantly setting the tone for what would become one of the most talked-about moments of the event.

What followed made it even better. Standing across from him was none other than Chris Evans, and just like that, the stage turned into a full-blown Marvel moment that fans couldn’t stop talking about.

Robert Downey Jr makes a Tony Stark-style entrance

Robert Downey Jr didn’t just walk onto that stage - he owned it.

Dressed in a Doctor Doom shirt, he leaned fully into the moment, bringing back the effortless charm and swagger that once defined his run as Iron Man.

The buzz from his entrance hadn’t even settled when Chris Evans stepped in, instantly turning it into something bigger - a face-off fans didn’t know they needed but couldn’t look away from.

Marvel Studios later captured the energy perfectly on social media, writing: “This guy… Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans face off on the CinemaCon stage.”

With Joe Russo and Anthony Russo steering Avengers: Doomsday and its follow-up Avengers: Secret Wars, it’s clear Marvel is swinging big once again.

And with the film set to release on December 18 alongside ‘Dune: Part III,’ the stage is already set for a massive box office clash.

When Evans stepped onto the stage, the energy shifted instantly. The two didn’t need to say much - their presence alone carried the moment.

For fans, it wasn’t just about seeing two actors together. It was about everything they represent. Years of storytelling, iconic roles and a dynamic that helped define an entire era of superhero films.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ trailer reveal adds to the hype

While their interaction was the highlight, the event also served a bigger purpose - unveiling the first full-length trailer for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

The footage opened with Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom, seen in a green hood and metal mask, preparing to invade the multiverse. From there, things only got bigger.

There were glimpses of major crossovers, including Gambit and Shang-Chi in action, and Thor facing off against Doom in a standout moment where Doom catches Mjolnir with his bare hands.

"Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers also made a powerful return, reuniting with Thor and once again lifting Mjolnir - a moment clearly designed to echo one of the most iconic scenes from Avengers: Endgame.

The trailer didn’t stop there. It teased massive battles, including Wakandan forces clashing with Namor’s Talokans, and even showed the Fantastic Four interacting with the New Avengers.

At one point, Mystique transforms into Yelena Belova, setting up a unique Florence Pugh vs. Florence Pugh sequence.

Downey Jr and Evans played the trailer twice for the audience, making sure every detail landed.

Fans react to the unexpected reunion moment

As expected, the internet had a lot to say.

The face-off between Downey Jr. and Evans quickly became one of the most talked-about moments from CinemaCon, with fans flooding social media and urging Marvel to drop the trailer as soon as possible.

One user on X commented, saying "Thought we were going to have a DoomsDay on stage"

Another asked, "They're keeping us on edge as always , where's the trailer?"

Another added, "Don't Play With Our Feelings Marvelllll"

Another user wrote, "If you allow me sleep without releasing that trailer, I’m raising hell on yall"
