VENICE, ITALY: Robert Pattinson couldn’t hold back his laughter when he heard his memorable dialogue from 'The Odyssey' being shouted. The dialogue that cracked him up was the “beggars” line.

During the Venice premiere of his upcoming psychological film 'Primetime' on Saturday, September 5, the 40-year-old actor was busy signing autographs when he heard the dialogue from the crowd.

For reference, Pattinson’s “beggars” dialogue comes from Christopher Nolan’s epic, in which he plays Antinous, the villainous suitor who attempts to take the throne of Ithaca.

Robert Pattinson laughs as fan shouts his ‘beggars’ dialogue

On Saturday, Pattinson was signing autographs outside Venice’s Palazzo del Cinema when a fan suddenly shouted, “somebody get these beggars out of here.”  The actor looked down at the autograph he was signing and burst out laughing. The funny moment was captured on video and later spread across X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok.

In the Nolan-directed film, Antinous orders Odysseus, who is disguised as a beggar, to be thrown out of the palace, saying, “Somebody get these beggars out of here!”

Fans couldn’t help but joke that the meme had come full circle after Pattinson heard his own famous line from 'The Odyssey'.

Pattinson's Antinous is a charismatic, arrogant, and ruthless nobleman in 'The Odyssey'. While King Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, is away at war, Antinous takes over the royal palace in Ithaca and tries to pressure Queen Penelope, played by Anne Hathaway, into marrying him.

He also attempts to push Prince Telemachus, played by Holland, aside. Pattinson has described Antinous as a sleazy and lazy character. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Pattinson said with a laugh, “I think they will be rooting for him. I keep comparing it... It’s kind of like Jacob in 'Twilight,'” referring to Taylor Lautner’s character.

“What 'The Odyssey' is about is that Penelope just can’t make her mind up between the two guys, and I’m just trying to like help her make a decision.... It’s like, it’s fine. He’s dead, get over it,” the actor quipped.

Pattinson also discussed Antinous in an interview with PEOPLE. Speaking about playing villains, he said, “I don’t think he’s really the bad guy. I think he’s just like... It’s a love story!”
