Ron DeSantis claims media and Dems are ‘whitewashing’ Kamala Harris’ past, Internet says 'he's correct'
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis claimed on Sunday, July 28, that the media and the Democrats are "whitewashing" Vice President Kamala Harris' past so that it can be beneficial for her in the presidential race.
Harris was endorsed as the presumptive Democratic nominee for the 2024 presidential race after President Joe Biden stepped down from the contest recently, the New York Post reported.
Ron DeSantis claims media and Democrats are 'whitewashing' Kamala Harris
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appeared on Fox News' 'Sunday Morning Futures', where he said, "The media really worked hard to push Biden out. And now what you see is all the arteries of the left, the corporate media, Hollywood, academia, they’re using all the king’s horses and all the king’s men to try to put the Democratic Party back together again."
He added, "We have all seen her. I mean, she’s incredibly vapid, even more incredibly liberal, and she doesn’t have any accomplishments."
Moreover, Republicans are concerned about Harris's position on many crucial topics, such as her earlier eagerness to outlaw fracking and her management of the border crisis.
Simultaneously, as she gets ready to take on former president Donald Trump in this election season, they have attacked the mainstream media for supposedly trying to rebrand her.
DeSantis further added, "Now that Biden's out if we had to pick someone, I think we would pick Harris because she owns all the policies, she's not going to be able to distance herself from them, and most Americans think this country's going in the wrong direction."
Harris currently has the support of sufficient delegates to serve as the party's standard bearer. In the next two weeks, she is anticipated to be formally declared the nominee through a virtual roll call.
During the Republican National Convention on July 16, DeSantis took jibes at President Biden and said, "Let’s send Joe Biden back to his basement, and let’s send Donald Trump back to the White House. Joe Biden has failed this nation. As a veteran, I was appalled when 13 of our service members were killed in Afghanistan due to Joe Biden’s dereliction of duty."
He added, "As a citizen, as a husband and as a father, I am alarmed that the current president of the United States lacks the capability to discharge the duties of his office."

In the comments section of the New York Post article, one reader wrote, "He is right she cannot distance herself from the policies they implemented. She cannot escape responsibility for the border because the official transcript is there from the White House press conference and that document must be preserved."
Another added, "Republicans should take note for 2028, and compare what DeSantis said today to Nikki Haley's carefully hedged remarks from two days ago."
One individual said, "He’s absolutely correct. Kamala is so far to the left, she makes Biden look like a conservative," whereas another added, "The DT campaign managers need to counter w/the facts in TV ads. Repeat it over and over and over until it sinks in."
