Ryan Gosling reveals his daughters aided his 'Barbie' performance at Oscars despite 'disinterest' in Ken
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ryan Gosling, the 43-year-old actor, recently shared how his daughters, Esmeralda, nine, and Amada, seven, helped him prepare for his performance of 'I’m Just Ken' from the 'Barbie' movie at the 2024 Oscars.
Despite their apparent ‘disinterest’ in Ken, they knew the choreography better than their father and even assisted him backstage during the performance, as per E! News.
Ryan Gosling’s daughters, Esmeralda and Amada, were a team support
During an interview on 'The Tonight Show' with Jimmy Fallon, Gosling revealed that his daughters would say, “Dad’s Kenning again” when he had to appear for the performance.
Fallon asked whether Esmeralda and Amada were with their father when he shot the 2023 blockbuster film, to which Gosling confirmed that they did join him on set a few times.
He said, "It's really been a team effort. And they were on the film and they came to set when I filmed the number."
He also mentioned that the Academy Awards were the first big show his daughters have attended.
"They know all the choreography better than I do and the songs. Oh my God, they’re backstage kind of, like, showing me that,” he said while demonstrating some of his character’s dance moves.
Ryan Gosling revealed his daughters have no context of his character
Gosling also shared it was his daughters' interest in Barbie and their disinterest in Ken that started all of this.

“A lot of this has no context for them, you know? It’s just like a lot of fake tan stains around the house,” Gosling joked of his character’s orangey look.
He wanted them to come to the dress rehearsal to give it some context for what had been going on.
Eva Mendes: Ryan Gosling's strongest support is always by his side
Although Amada and Esmeralda weren’t at the March 10 ceremony, Gosling had his partner of over 13 years, Eva Mendes, by his side.

After Ryan received his Academy Award nomination for 'Barbie', Eva shared a tribute to his hard work.
“So proud of my man,” she wrote on January 24 on Instagram. “So much hate when he took on this role. So many people trying to shame him for doing it."
