Sabrina Carpenter evokes ‘Thelma & Louise’ era, brings Geena Davis to Coachella after Susan Sarandon

Similar to Sarandon, her ‘Thelma & Louise’ co-star also appeared as an elderly version of Carpenter to deliver a meaningful monologue.

INDIO, CALIFORNIA: Sabrina Carpenter turned her Coachella 2026 set into a full-blown pop culture moment, bringing in another surprise guest that had fans instantly talking.

After kicking things off in the first weekend with Susan Sarandon, the singer raised the bar yet again by introducing her ‘Thelma & Louise’ co-star Geena Davis during her second weekend performance.

Sabrina Carpenter brings back ‘Thelma & Louise’ nostalgia with Geena Davis cameo

During her weekend two set, Carpenter brought out Davis for a mid-performance interlude, continuing a cinematic theme that has been running through her show.

Davis appeared in a vintage white car, wearing a blonde wig, playing an older version of Carpenter.

The moment instantly stood out, not just because of the surprise, but because it mirrored what happened the previous weekend.

Sarandon had taken on the same role during weekend one, also portraying an older version of Carpenter in a similar setup.

The connection between the two actresses didn’t go unnoticed. Both Davis and Sarandon famously starred together in the 90s cult classic ‘Thelma & Louise,’ making their back-to-back Coachella cameos feel like a deliberate and nostalgic nod.

Geena Davis delivers reflective monologue as older Sabrina Carpenter

Geena Davis’ appearance wasn’t just visual, it came with a monologue that added depth to the performance.

Speaking as an older version of Sabrina Carpenter, Davis delivered a reflective and slightly somber speech about fame and youth.

“It’s kind of a shame she never got to see me up onstage, maybe in a concert, in a arena or in a stadium in a foreign country,” Davis said in character.

“I would’ve had the label send a plane for her and her parents, and they could’ve just stayed down the hall from me. And [eaten] in the most expensive restaurant in that city. It’s better she never saw me that way. It would’ve been weird.”

The scene unfolded inside the vintage car, reinforcing the nostalgic tone of the set.

The choice to bring Davis in for this role added an extra layer of meaning, especially given her history with Sarandon.

During weekend one, Sarandon delivered a similar monologue, though significantly longer.

Her segment ran for nearly seven minutes and gave Carpenter enough time for a full costume change. Reports suggest the second weekend version was more streamlined, likely in response to initial fan reactions.

Sarandon, who appeared almost unrecognizable in blonde hair and a white outfit, had also leaned fully into the concept, reflecting on “her” younger days while seated behind the wheel.
