Sabrina Carpenter says she’s ‘incredibly proud’ of first Emmy win for ‘The Muppet Show’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sabrina Carpenter is "incredibly proud” after winning her first Emmy for ‘The Muppet Show.’

The 27-year-old singer, who acted in the Disney+ variety special, was honored as an executive producer on Saturday, September 5, at the 78th Creative Arts Emmy Award

Carpenter celebrated her win by posing with ‘The Muppet Show’ characters on her Instagram Stories and writing, “Thank you ©televisionacad. So incredibly proud of the whole muppets crew on our Emmy wins!!!!!”

“A lot of love and happiness and hard work and diva fights went into making this special,” she added.

‘The Muppet Show’ wins multiple Emmys at 2026 Creative Arts Awards

However, Carpenter was not the only one recognized for the variety sketch comedy television special, which premiered on February 4.

‘The Muppet Show’ also won awards for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for a Variety Special, and Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special.

Matt Vogel also received a nomination for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance for voicing Kermit the Frog, but the award eventually went to Julie Andrews for Lady Whistledown in ‘Bridgerton.’

Meanwhile, with this latest win, Carpenter has moved closer to achieving EGOT status. She has won two Grammy Awards, and if she wins an Oscar and a Tony, she will achieve the coveted status.

Bad Bunny wins first Emmy for Super Bowl halftime show

In addition to Carpenter, Bad Bunny also won his first Emmy on September 5.

The 32-year-old rapper was honored for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for his performance and production work on the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show in 2026.

He has not issued any statement about his win yet, but, like Carpenter, he is also halfway to achieving EGOT status.

Jimmy Kimmel thanks ‘seat fillers’ after Emmy win

During the awards ceremony, comedian Wanda Sykes said, “Television isn’t made by a handful of people. It’s made by thousands of talented people solving impossible problems together to create something great.”

“So, the more excellence there is to recognize, the more time we should spend celebrating it,” Sykes added before the first Emmy of the night went to Jimmy Kimmel.

In his acceptance speech, the late-night talk show host said, “Mostly I really want to thank whoever decided to put our category first because we won last year, and it was nothing but seat fillers. So, thank you very much, and thanks to the seat fillers for sticking it out."
