Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs reportedly sent back to solitary confinement amid prison privilege claims
BURLINGTON COUNTY, NEW JERSEY: Sean 'Diddy' Combs has allegedly been placed back in solitary confinement at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey following reports about his “pampered” prison lifestyle.
The 56-year-old music mogul is serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted in July 2025.
The latest development comes as his prison release date has changed again, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons records reviewed by Page Six.
Diddy reportedly returned to solitary confinement
Combs was reportedly sent to the special housing unit (SHU) after an NBC report claimed he was receiving special treatment at FCI Fort Dix, including specially prepared meals, massages and having fellow inmates paid to complete chores for him.
TMZ reported on Wednesday that, according to insiders, inmates are commonly placed in a SHU while investigations are underway. Four men who were allegedly housed in the same unit as Combs told NBC that the rapper was living a “pampered” life behind bars, according to a report published on Tuesday, September 29.
“This is not some normal thing you see in jail. This is some rich thing,” one man said and added, “It looks crazy, but again, it’s Diddy.”
One inmate who claimed to have cooked for Combs described preparing meals such as pizza, curry chicken and empanadas. “After a while, I got tired of cooking,” the man told NBC.
NBC also obtained an alleged photo of Combs using a contraband cellphone.
One insider claimed that Combs scrolls through Instagram and receives adult content from an “old girlfriend.” The businessman was also allegedly able to access a stash of premium liquor, reportedly brought in by guards, as well as antidepressant.
Combs’ representative rejected the allegations while speaking to Page Six, saying, “The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’s life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news.”
Diddy’s prison release date moved up again
According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records reviewed by Page Six, Combs’ release date from FCI Fort Dix is now January 21, 2028, after previously being set for February 5, 2028.
Before that, his release date had been moved from February 23, 2028, to January 24, 2028, despite his July altercation with another inmate and subsequent placement in solitary confinement. Earlier this month, however, the date appeared to have been pushed back to February 20, 2028.
His original release date had been set for June 2028. According to TMZ, Combs was involved in an altercation over the summer after allegedly being insulted and “taking matters into his own hands.”
Multiple sources told the outlet that the two prisoners pushed each other during the encounter.
An insider said Combs had “held his own” before prison staff separated the pair. Combs was subsequently placed in solitary confinement and later released, TMZ reported in August.
At the time, the Bureau of Prisons told Page Six that it does not release information about an inmate’s conditions of confinement, housing assignments, or whether an inmate is the subject of allegations, investigations or sanctions.
