LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have reunited for a Rare Beauty collaboration, recreating the poster of their 2009 Disney movie ‘Princess Protection Program’ in gowns and tiaras.
The collaboration features the Delena Soft Pinch Blush Bundle, celebrating their long-standing friendship and shared history.

Gomez announced the collaboration on Instagram, sharing a photograph of the pair sitting atop a pile of luggage while wearing gowns and tiaras. “Once a Princess, always a Princess,” she wrote, adding, “Best friends don’t just have each other’s backs. They make them blush too."
The collaboration introduces the Delena Soft Pinch Blush Bundle, priced at $50. The set includes Rare Beauty’s best-selling liquid cheek color in the Hope and Virtue shades, along with a blush brush.
Recreating their looks from ‘Princess Protection Program’, Gomez wears a teal gown, while Lovato appears in yellow. However, both stars’ outfits have received an upgrade since the film’s release 16 years ago.
Gomez wears a tiered Oscar de la Renta look from the design house’s Resort 2016 collection, while Lovato sports a yellow embellished mini dress by Leo Lin, priced at $3,295. In a press release, Rare Beauty announced, “The reunion the internet has been manifesting for years is finally here."

Gomez also reflected on the campaign, saying, “Coming together for this campaign was a beautiful reminder of that history and a chance to celebrate who we are today. One and the same….always.”
Lovato shared similar sentiments about working with her longtime friend. “Selena and I have shared a lot of memories over the years since childhood,” she said. “So being able to connect in this way, in a campaign that feels so nostalgic to both of us, is such a full-circle moment.”

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato revisit friendship after fallout
Gomez and Lovato have known each other for almost 25 years. The pair first met in 2002, when they were both seven years old and auditioning for ‘Barney’.
Despite their longstanding connection, the former best friends have not always maintained a close relationship. In a 2020 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Lovato acknowledged that the two had experienced a brief falling-out.
“When you grow up with somebody, you’re always going to have love for them. But I’m not friends with her, so it felt …” Lovato said at the time. She continued, “I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best.”
However, Disney Channel fans celebrated a public reunion between the pair in April when Gomez supported Lovato from the audience at her concert.
Their latest Rare Beauty collaboration brings the two stars together again, combining their shared Disney history with a campaign inspired by their friendship and the nostalgia surrounding ‘Princess Protection Program’.
