LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the wake of Donald Trump's felony fraud convictions, Seth Meyers returned to his late-night show with a resounding message for skeptics: "Not today!"

The NBC host, known for his sharp wit and political commentary, took aim at the pessimists who doubt the significance of Trump's legal troubles on the upcoming 2024 election.

Seth Meyers' comic revelation of 'Donald Trump is guilty' cue card

Meyers, back on air after a brief hiatus, couldn't hide his astonishment at the news of Trump's guilt on all 34 charges. Reflecting on the momentous occasion, Meyers humorously revealed the dusty cue card bearing the words "Donald Trump is guilty," a prop that had been stashed away since 2015, finally seeing the light of day.

"I can't believe it, that we finally got to use that cue card," Meyers said, as the camera panned to Wally, holding up a very dusty cue card with the sentence on it. "We've had it in storage since 2015."

Launching into his signature "A Closer Look" segment, Meyers wasted no time in addressing the naysayers who believe Trump's verdict will have no bearing on his political aspirations.

"Not today!" Meyers exclaimed emphatically. "You may be right in the long run, but today is not the day to dismiss its impact."

Throughout the segment, Meyers dissected the potential consequences of Trump's conviction, even speculating on the possibility of house arrest for the former president. In a characteristic blend of humor and insight, Meyers cheekily acknowledged the irony in Trump and his supporters likening his trial to a scenario in Soviet Russia.

"He was tried in open court, with legal representation, due process, and a jury of his peers — a scenario reminiscent of everyday life in Soviet Russia," Meyers quipped, highlighting the absurdity of the comparison.
