Shania Twain dubbed 'Kardashian lookalike' over her unrecognizable look during New Year's Eve gig

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Shania Twain joined CNN correspondent Anderson Cooper and his best friend Andy Cohen as they hosted the New Year's Eve special on CNN on Tuesday, December 31. 

As the 59-year-old county star took to the stage to belt out an eclectic performance, Twain became the center of the internet’s attention regarding her appearance. 

Soon as the ‘Any Man of Mine’ hitmaker took the stage, several fans complained that the country superstar looked almost “unrecognizable.”

According to The Mirror, Shania Twain took the stage in a white ensemble during the New Year’s Eve show. 

Wearing a black dress, she opted for a flowy cape and long boots and gloves to complete her look.

While the songstress looked dazzling under stage light, several fans pointed out that she looked ‘unrecognizable.’ Some fans even speculated that she has opted for cosmetic work on her face. 

The latest criticism comes just a few days after the songstress thanked her fans for supporting her throughout the years. As 2024 was wrapping around, Twain took to her Instagram as she wrote, "Just a few highlights from my year… This was so hard to cut down into a short video!! You guys believed in me from day one and you’re the reason I do what I do every day and this year was no exception - 2024 was full of some of my favorite memories and I can’t wait to make even more with you all next year."

She continued, "The fans make country music what it is and I feel so lucky to have you lot as my fans!! Thank you ❤️."

Shania Twain's appearance sparks internet flurry 

As the New Year's Eve show aired on CNN, fans took to their social media to moan about Shania Twain's looks as many complained she looked completely unrecognizable. 

One of the social media users asked, "What happened to Shania Twain’s face?! #CNNNYE."

"Why did I think Shania Twain was Lindsay Lohan? #CNNNYE," asked someone else. 

Another fan complained, "Shania Twain has turned into a Kardashian look alike. Ugh."

"Who was that Shania Twain impersonator on the #CNNNYE? #CNNNewYearsEve@CNN," chimed in another questioning Twain's looks.

"Shania Twain looks different from how I remember her," mused another.

Someone else complained, "Shania Twain got so much work done sounds like her nose don't work."
