WASHINGTON, DC: Former adviser to Melania Trump, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff slammed the former First Lady's speech at the National Archives Naturalization Ceremony, calling it "quite repulsive" and a "publicity moment."

The ex-adviser blasted Melania's speech in an interview with political correspondent Abby Philip on CNN.

Wolkoff, who was an unpaid adviser, said, "You know, again, back to today's naturalization, being in the National Archives with our Constitution, and the Bill of Rights and knowing how she felt about not wanting to actually promote that for so many individuals that have less opportunity than she had, it was just a squandered opportunity."

"And she feels like, you know, it's, again, I keep going back to that publicity moment, and I find it to be really quite repulsive," the former adviser continued.

In her rare public appearance after her husband, Donald Trump's election loss in 2020, the ongoing 2024 presidential campaign, and the array of legal battles, Melania addressed the ceremony on December 15, where she navigated the complexities of her American immigration procedure. According to ABC News, Melania got her US citizenship in 2006, more than a year after marrying the former President.

Stephanie  Wolkoff finds Melania Trump's speech 'deceptive' and 'deceitful'

Wolkoff, who previously struggled to convince Melania to make such appearances, commented that the latter's speech lacked meaning when the host asked for her opinion.

"Unfortunately, I find it to be really deceptive, almost deceitful, and quite honestly, I find Melania Trump's words to be lacking of any real meaning," she said.

Pointing out that she is the second First Lady descending from another country, Wolkoff said that despite having the opportunity to change many lives, Melania blindly supported her husband. "I mean, it was the American dream," said the ex-adviser, adding, "And to squander that opportunity, to show up today, to try and make a difference in something that her husband is so against, which is immigration, as we all know, really is meaningless."

Wolkoff, known for the 2020 book 'Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady' said that Melania would probably appear with Trump in the coming months to support his campaign. " I do feel strongly that Melania Trump isn't going anywhere. I believe that Melania will stay by Donald's side. Throughout all of this, she is his partner in crime," Wolkoff added.

Internet supported Melania's former adviser's views on the former First Lady's speech. Some even pointed out rumors of her renewing a prenuptial agreement with Trump. According to a Page Six report, she renegotiated the prenup in September ahead of her husband's presidential campaign announcement.

One user said, "She is no better than Donald. Case in point like how she co signed on to the birther nonsense against President Obama."

Another user remarked, "Couldn’t agree with u more."

"Agreed, like Donald, everything about them is transactional. The only way she leaves him is if a more lucrative opportunity rises," read a third reaction.

A fourth user added, "Melania just updated her pre-nuptial agreement for the 3rd time. True love."

"Melania has been a paid partner from the very beginning," said another.
