Shemane Nugent gets 'goosebumps' as Lee Greenwood shares bold Bible prediction about Trump's 2024 bid
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Shemane Nugent, the wife of conservative rocker Ted Nugent, experienced "massive goosebumps" over the weekend after Lee Greenwood claimed that the Bible had predicted the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
During a segment on Shemane’s Real America's Voice program, the singer suggested that the incident had biblical significance, urging viewers to acquire the $59.99 'God Bless The USA' Bible, a collaboration between him and the GOP nominee.
Lee Greenwood shares 'blood on ear' Bible interpretation about Donald Trump's assassination attempt
While talking to Shemane Nugent, Lee Greenwood also emphasized the role of faith in Donald Trump's reelection campaign and his own family's life.
He shared, "And so with faith being a forefront for President Trump's campaign and my family as well, my wife Kim and I and our two boys Dalton and Parker, we pray at all our meals, we pray at everything that we do about what's coming tomorrow and the next day."
"And so we kind of listen, and we listen as hard as we can to the message from God and see exactly what he has planned," added the 'God Bless the USA' singer.
Greenwood went on, "And I will tell you that after the assassination attempt of President Trump, if you go to the pages of Leviticus and find out that the person that gets blood on his right ear from an injury is then anointed, President Trump will become our next president. I guarantee you that."
Shemane reacted to this prediction, saying, "Wow, I just got massive goosebumps. And I've heard that too. And I've read that in Leviticus."
Religious leaders criticize the misinterpretation of Leviticus
This interpretation of the Book of Leviticus, which has been widely brought up by Donald Trump's supporters following the assassination attempt, has been criticized by Christian leaders.
Just days after the Butler rally incident, Derek Allen, pastor of First Baptist Church Tillman’s Corner in Alabama, expressed concerns over the "blood on ear" interpretation, stating, "This is an example of gross mishandling of Scripture," as per The Alabama Baptist.
He added, "When one small part of something kind of fits something that supports something we want, we run with bad interpretations and applications of Scripture. Those of us who believe the Bible is the infallible and inerrant Word of God often criticize liberal interpretations of Scripture that take the same approach."
"We have to guard ourselves from letting our emotions take us to such places," stressed Allen.
Montgomery-area pastor Daniel Atkins said, "The Bible is not a prop. The Bible is not to be used for political gain. It is the revelation of God to lead us to repentance and salvation through Jesus."
He added, "Rightly handle the word of truth ... We should be thankful that President Trump is still alive. We should grieve the loss of the life of a very heroic man. But, we must be very very careful in how we read, interpret and apply the Word of the Holy God."
