Spencer Pratt claims Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx privately backed LA mayoral run
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Spencer Pratt is running for mayor of Los Angeles against Mayor Karen Bass and Nithya Raman. Several celebrities have already shown support for Pratt. Now, he claims two more major stars are backing him privately - Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx.
According to Pratt, both celebrities privately pledged support for his campaign. He described getting their approval as “an out-of-body experience.”
The veteran TV personality has also received attention from President Donald Trump. Earlier this year, Pratt lost his family home in the 2025 Palisades fires, which destroyed nearly 6,837 structures, including historic landmarks, churches, schools, and libraries.
Spencer Pratt says Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx wanted safer LA streets
Pratt continued to spotlight his celebrity connections while discussing his mayoral campaign. During an interview with US Weekly, he claimed that two of Hollywood’s biggest stars privately supported his run for office.
According to Pratt, the interactions left a lasting impression on him. He also suggested that the conversations reflected concerns about safety in Los Angeles.
“There are two Hollywood heavyweights that Pratt claims have privately pledged their support.
‘Usually I don't name-drop, but I had two of my favorite people ever support me. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx both said, “Please, Mr Mayor, we want these streets safe again,”’ Pratt tells Us Weekly in a new interview. ‘If their reps try to deny this happened, I have multiple witnesses. It was an out-of-body experience.’”
However, as Entertainment Weekly reported, representatives for DiCaprio and Foxx did not respond regarding the claim.
Spencer Pratt gains celebrity support during Los Angeles mayoral campaign
His growing list of supporters comes as Pratt faces off against Karen Bass and Nithya Raman in the June 2 primary election. The top two candidates will move on to the November 3 general election.
On May 20, President Trump also weighed in on Pratt’s campaign. “I’d like to see him do well. He’s a character.”
Among Pratt’s public celebrity supporters are fellow 'The Hills' stars Brody Jenner, Kristin Cavallari, and Audrina Patridge. Other well-known names backing him include actor Dennis Quaid, rapper Big Sean, songwriter David Foster, socialite Paris Hilton, and Jeanie Buss.
In recent weeks, Pratt’s campaign has reportedly picked up momentum and attracted support from major entertainment industry figures, including music executive Lucian Grainge and producer Brian Grazer.
At present, attention remains focused on the upcoming election results and whether Pratt’s celebrity-backed campaign can gain wider traction among Los Angeles voters.
