NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Bill Maher, the comedian, political commentator, and host of HBO's 'Real Time with Bill Maher,' appeared on 'The Megyn Kelly Show' with Megyn Kelly on Tuesday, May 21.

In their discussion, Bill Maher was fact-checked twice by Megyn Kelly when he asserted that Hillary Clinton had never referred to Donald Trump as "illegitimate" and that J6ers had killed police officers.

Bill Maher claims 'Hillary never said Trump was illegitimate'

While Maher and Kelly discussed various topics during their conversation, the comedian claimed, "Hillary never said Trump was illegitimate." Kelly interrupted saying, "Yes she did. She said those exact words."

The clip played in the background where Hillary Clinton, former First Lady, Senator, Secretary of State, and 2016 presidential nominee  was seen saying, "I believe he knows he is an illegitimate president."

As reported in 2019, Clinton criticized President Donald Trump, his ego, and what she termed his "illegitimate" election during the promotion of her book, co-authored with her daughter, titled 'The Book of Gutsy Women.'

“I believe he knows he’s an illegitimate president,” she said while speaking with CBS.

She added, "He knows that there were a bunch of different reasons why the election turned out the way it did. And I take full responsibility for those parts of it that I should. But hey, it was like applying for a job and getting 66 million letters of recommendation, and losing to a corrupt human tornado.”

Bill Maher discusses J6ers 'killed cops'

As Maher and Kelly continued their conversation, he also ridiculed the idea that a police officer died from natural causes and accused J6ers of being responsible for killing cops.

Continuing the discussion on Trump, Maher asserted, "There was never an attack on the Capitol."

When referring to the J6ers' attack, he sarcastically remarked, "Like they (J6ers) never showed up at the capitol and break windows and knock down doors and kill cops."

Interestingly Kelly had again had to stop him saying, "They didn’t kill cops."

Maher confidently stated, "Like J6ers didn’t show up and kill cops?" He continued, questioning, "Of course they did!" and further queried, "They died of natural causes?"

The video from a news source clarified that Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural causes a day after defending the Capitol during the January 6 assault, according to the DC medical examiner's office.

Sicknick suffered two strokes at the base of his brainstem caused by a clot in an artery. He was sprayed with a chemical substance outside the Capitol and collapsed eight hours later, according to CBS.

The manner of death was determined to be "natural," with no evidence of internal or external injuries or an allergic reaction to the chemical substance.

The Capitol Police accepted the finding but said it did not change the fact that Sicknick died in the line of duty, courageously defending Congress and the Capitol.

Internet claims Bill Maher 'lives in his own truth'

As soon as the clip of Megyn Kelly and Bill Maher's conversation went viral on the internet, users started sharing their reactions.

One wrote, "Maher already admitted he plays a character. But I’m not sure if he’s actually as uninformed as he seems or if he just won’t admit certain things because it might cost him ratings."

Another user added, "Bill needs to stop listening to the media so much and start opening his eyes to the truth."

A commentator wrote, "Bill Maher is a relentless Trump hater, so it was satisfying to see him finally get checked on TV."

"even the Capitol police report says Brian died of natural causes. Bill lives in his own truth," claimed another user. [sic]
