Stephen Nedoroscik opens up about challenges he faced after his 'Dancing with the Stars' debut
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Stephen Nedoroscik opened up about the problems he faced after his first performance on the 'Dancing with the Stars' stage during his recent appearance on Joe Vulpis' 'Lightweight Podcast'.
The two-time Olympic bronze medalist and his partner, Rylee Arnold, impressed the judges on the debut night with their performance to Queen's 'Don’t Stop Me Now', scoring 21 points out of 30, as per Essentially Sports.
The following week, Nedoroscik and Arnold performed a Paso Doble to John Williams' 'Superman' theme, receiving a 22 out of 30.
Stephen Nedoroscik faced issues with his calves after dancing in heels
Though the performances looked seamless and easy to the viewers, the 25-year-old artistic gymnast could not do it without facing challenges and pain.
On the 'Lightweight Podcast', he revealed, "Yeah, I wore dancing shoes for the first jive and then I wore Cuban heels for the second one, and now I’m back in a different type of dancing shoes for this third week. But they’re not heels, which I’m excited about because, man, that like destroyed my calves."
He added, "It doesn’t make it [dance routine] harder but like, especially for guys, we are not used to walking in heels. And it was like long days of me walking in these two-and-half-inch heels, and oh my gosh props out to women who wear heels every day because my shins and calves were killing me."

Rylee Arnold feels Stephen Nedoroscik is too hard on himself
During her appearance on the same podcast, Stephen Nedoroscik's pro partner Rylee Arnold shared her views on his dancing skills.
She said, "He’ll point out things and I’m like wait I didn’t know you messed that up, but like good catch. But it’s to the point where it’s just like he’s hard on himself and I’m just like just do it. Just like let it out and dance it and it’ll come when it needs to."
Nedoroscik not only faced pain in his claves but experienced some hysterically funny moments too.
While talking about his second performance, he disclosed, "So, I start walking down, and Riley’s like, 'Go, go!' She’s telling me to walk, and I was like, 'Oh, she’s told me to stop.' Then I was like, 'Okay, wait, no, she’s saying go.'"
"So, then I kind of hit a little jog to the stairs, tripped down the stairs, It was so funny. I trip down the stairs because I have my Cuban heels on and I get back up like ‘alright lock back in dude.' They rip the suit off it gets stuck on my leg and I go to walk and I trip again," further shared the Olympic bronze medalist.
Stephen Nedoroscik will be participating in the 2028 Olympics
There is no doubt Stephen Nedoroscik is having a good time on 'DWTS' but that does not mean he has put a full stop on his gymnastics career.
In August, he declared on Instagram that he would be competing in the Olympics 2028.

In a lengthy post, Nedoroscik said, "My Olympic Games is complete, and what a journey it’s been. My goal was to be the best for my team and I found myself lucky enough to perform in the Pommel Horse final."
He added, "Without a doubt the most stacked Pommel Horse final in history, and I managed to grab a piece of the podium placing third 🥉 at my first Olympic Games. Thank you to everybody who has supported me throughout my journey. I am just a man shaped by those who surround me, I couldn’t have done it without any of you."
"Onto the next chapter… #2028," concluded Nedoroscik.
