LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Stevie Nicks, the Fleetwood Mac frontwoman opened up about her frustration over not being able to visit her former bandmate Christine McVie she died.

Stevie Nicks wasn’t allowed to sing to Christine McVie before her death
Stevie Nicks shared that she wanted to spend time with Christine McVie during her final days on her deathbed.
“My plan was to sit on her bed and sing 'Touched By An Angel,’” Nicks explained.
However, McVie’s family thought the visit would make her believe she was at the end. “I didn’t get to do that, and I was angry,” Nicks said as reported by the Daily Mail.
McVie died in November 2022 at 79 following a stroke. Talking about the loss, Nicks said it was impossible to continue Fleetwood Mac without her.
“When Christine died, I felt like you can’t replace her. You just can’t,” she told Vulture in 2023.
Describing McVie as her “musical soulmate” and closest friend, Nicks added, “Without her, what is it? You know what I mean?”
Stevie Nicks' affair with Christine McVie’s boyfriend Dennis Wilson
Christine McVie dated Dennis Wilson of The Beach Boys for three years from 1979 to 1982.
Wilson died in 1983, a year after they got into a relationship, after drinking heavily and drowning while diving at Marina Del Rey.
In Lesley-Ann Jones’ book Songbird: An Intimate Biography of Christine McVie, it’s claimed McVie’s feelings for Wilson lingered.
“She never stopped loving him,” the author noted. “His drowning affected her deeply."
“She returned to her senses only when it was brought to her attention that Dennis and Stevie had slept together,” Jones wrote.
Friend Jon Stebbins confirmed the affair in the book, saying, “Dennis made love to Stevie Nicks just when he was supposed to be settling down with Christine.”
Christine McVie’s later marriage and Fleetwood Mac's end
After her relationship with Dennis Wilson, Christine McVie married songwriter Eddy Quintela in 1986. They divorced in 2003.
McVie had left Fleetwood Mac in 1998 but rejoined in 2014 after a one-off appearance at the O2 reignited her passion for performing.
Fleetwood Mac, formed in 1967, became one of the most successful bands in history, selling over 100 million records.
Their hits include 'Dreams', 'Go Your Own Way', and 'Everywhere'.
Nicks reflected on their final tour together, saying, “We had a really great time, and it was a huge tour. That was there in the realm of possibility.”
She added that McVie’s death meant any chance of reuniting was gone.
