WASHINGTON, DC: Alabama senator Tommy Tuberville faced significant backlash recently for restricting the role of his fellow Alabama senator, Katie Britt, to that of a 'housewife' while praising her for her State of the Union speech.

In another instance, Tuberville drew criticism for his comment during a media interview where he advocated for the consideration of frozen embryos as children, stating, "We need more kids," following a state court's decision.

MSNBC host Joy Reid condemned Tuberville's remarks, labeling him as the 'single dumbest member of the United States Senate'.

Additionally, Tuberville faced ridicule on social media for suggesting that the United States had compelled NATO to expand to Eastern Europe and suggested that the US might have provoked Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

Tommy Tuberville asserts Katie Britt was chosen for SOTU because she is 'housewife'

The Republican senator recently spoke with Newsmax to laud Senator Britt's response to the State of the Union address by POTUS. However, his comment that Britt was chosen because she's a "housewife" sparked criticism on social media.

As noted by HuffPost, Britt delivered her SOTU response from her kitchen, an unconventional choice and described as bizarre by some.

Tuberville clarified to HuffPost that Britt was selected because of her perspective as a housewife, in addition to her role as a senator.

He explained, "Somebody who sees it from a different perspective, you know, education, family, all those things. I mean, she did what she was asked to do. I thought she did a good job. And it’s hard when you’ve never done anything like that. I thought the delivery was good. People were going to make fun of anybody. Some people like it, some people don’t."

Tuberville accused Democrats of disliking Britt's speech because it emphasized family values. As per Meidas Touch, he accused Democrats of being against families and said, "She's a mom. She's a housewife ... If you just see what the Left is doing. They're going after families. They're going after separating families - taking the dad out of the family. They're going after kids in schools, not allowing them to learn to read, write, and do arithmetic. They're being indoctrinated with all these pronouns and all these books that are in the library about sexuality. She had the narrative of talking about family, and that's what Republicans are for. Democrats are against families."

During Britt's 17-minute speech from her home in Montgomery, Alabama, she criticized Biden's handling of various issues.

Britt called out POTUS' control over the southern border, his age, and the economic policies, along with myriad issues, but it was her delivery and the home setting that garnered attention, according to the Hill.

Internet users assert Tommy Tuberville is reason why Republicans might lose

A user slammed Tuberville for the 'housewife' remark and wrote, "Tommy Tuberville is a case study to why Republicans are gonna lose in November."

Another user wrote, "Tommy Teletubbie needs to stick with football."

A user commented, "She’s a US senator. Do you seriously think she’s cleaning her house, cooking meals, and grocery shopping?! Being a Senator is more than a full time job, she’s probably flying home once a month or so. I’d ask Tommy if he’s flying home and cooking meals cleaning, & shopping."

Another user commented, "He is the dumbest MFer …"
