The cause of death of TikTok star Taylor Rousseau Grigg has been revealed just days after her sudden and unexpected death.

Grigg's family confirmed to Today on Thursday that the 25-year-old influencer died due to complications related to Addison's disease and asthma.

Months before her death, Grigg had discussed her battle with a mysterious illness since the previous year, telling her TikTok followers, "I feel like I'm fighting for my life."

Addison's disease is a rare disorder where the adrenal glands do not produce sufficient amounts of the hormones cortisol and aldosterone, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Adrenal insufficiency can be life-threatening, with symptoms—including extreme fatigue, weight loss, and low blood pressure—developing either slowly or rapidly. While there is no cure for Addison's disease, patients typically manage the chronic condition with hormone replacement therapy.

Asthma, on the other hand, is a chronic lung condition that causes narrowing and inflammation of the airways, making breathing difficult. A severe asthma attack can also pose serious risks to life.

Taylor Rousseau Grigg's haunting video resurfaces days after her death

A poignant video of Taylor Rousseau Grigg discussing her declining health resurfaced online days after her death. This footage was recorded less than two months before her unexpected death at the age of 25.

In the August 8 video, she addressed fans’ concerns that she didn't seem as happy as she once was since marrying Cameron Grigg, a rodeo bull rider. During this conversation, she revealed that she had fallen ill shortly after their wedding, describing Cameron as a "great husband" and "the best thing that ever happened to me."

Despite this, she defended herself, stating that she wasn't always expected to maintain a cheerful facade for her 1.4 million followers before her death last weekend.

She explained that although she had been suffering from an unknown illness since last August, it wasn’t until this year that she truly understood what was wrong, leading to months of uncertainty and fear, as per DailyMail.

"Stress is what did this to me, or one of the things that did this to me," Taylor said in the video. "You're seeing me be sick for the whole time that we're married and me not finding out what was wrong until this year, so I was just struggling that whole time feeling like I was going to die."

In the video, she chose not to specify her diagnosis to avoid being overwhelmed with unsolicited advice and remedies. She explained, "'In the past, I've caught myself doing stuff because people on the internet told me I have to be this way or I have to do this I'm done doing that."

Being more candid than ever, Taylor revealed the pain she was enduring. "I feel like I'm fighting for life every day, and when I didn't know what was wrong with me, I would be in bed writhing in pain just wishing to be dead. I just wanted it to end, and I don't necessarily feel that way now."

She added, "And it just sucks, because I'm 24 years old. I should be in my prime! I should be able to carry my suitcase up the stairs. I should be able to walk to the mailbox or run. And those are just things that I can't really do right now."
