SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift was there to celebrate her BFF Selena Gomez during her intimate wedding to Benny Blanco on Saturday, September 27. She was at the front and center throughout the celebration and even delivered a speech at the reception, as per reports. 

The event also saw Ed Sheeran delivering a speech for the newlyweds.

Taylor Swift’s presence was one of the highlights of the wedding, which the guests described as joyful and full of love. At the reception, the mood was lively with everyone celebrating late into the night as the couple glowed in happiness.

Along with Swift and Sheeran’s speeches, Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey, and stepfather Brian Teefey shared a heartfelt tribute, while Blanco’s parents offered their blessings, making the event emotional and warm.

The wedding ceremony moved guests to tears as the couple exchanged vows they had written themselves, blending humor with heartfelt sentiments, a source told People.

One of the touching moments of the wedding was when Mandy Teefey’s father, David Michael Cornett, walked Selena Gomez down the aisle, which, according to her mother, was a fairytale come true. 

In an Instagram post, Teefey wrote, "It was a fairytale come true and it was beyond heartwarming watching my father [David Michael Cornett] walk her down the aisle!!! XO."

Teefey went on to call the newlyweds "the most kick a** couple I know," adding that the evening "couldn't have been more beautiful and perfect."

She closed her post with a glowing message for both her daughter and new son-in-law, writing, "Absolutely flawless! All my love to my beautiful daughter @selenagomez and to the greatest son-in-law @itsbennyblanco."

The bond between Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift's friendship began about 16 years ago when they were teenagers. They met in 2008 when Swift was dating Joe Jonas and Gomez was with his brother Nick Jonas.

They grew closer when both their relationships ended. Gomez later told Jake Shane, “She and I like to say the best thing we got out of those relationships was each other because it was really sweet.”

From the beginning, Swift had been openly supportive of Gomez’s relationship with Blanco. The 'Lover' singer had even gifted the couple a homemade sourdough and shared some sweet sentiments for the couple online. 

After Gomez announced her engagement on Instagram on December 11, 2024, Swift quickly commented, "Yes I will be the flower girl."
