Tech billionaire Mark Pincus reveals ‘red pill moment’ that led lifelong Democrat to support Trump

WASHINGTON, DC: Tech billionaire Mark Pincus explained his decision to support President-elect Donald Trump days ahead of the 2024 general election during a recent podcast interview, Gateway Pundit reported on Saturday, January 18.

Known to be a lifelong Democrat, the founder of the social gaming company Zynga claimed to have experienced a "red pill moment" that led to him shifting his base of support and publicly endorsing the GOP nominee.



 

What was Mark Pincus' 'red pill moment'?

On the 'All In' podcast, Mark Pincus shared that he found some blogs revealing information ahead of the mainstream media, as well as contradicting their narrative. As a result, he "started feeling more uncomfortable and queasy with what was going on with mainstream media".

“Then, in May 2024, I read an article that talked about Trump’s speech in Charlottesville, where he said there are good people on both sides, and the article said it was completely propaganda and didn’t actually reflect what he said,” noted Pincus.

“That he denounced the Nazis a bunch of times in his speech, so then I went and watched that video, and that was my red pill moment," said the billionaire.

“I think it was for a lot of people because it wasn’t just the media or politicians spinning it,” he continued. “That speech was one of the pillars of why you were supposed to hate Trump. Then you see Biden say that’s why he had to run a second time, and Obama says it, and Biden brings it up again at the DNC.”

Pincus claimed that the Democrats "clearly know they are misrepresenting things", which made him all the more uncomfortable.

"Now, I have to go back to first principles and look at the primary data, listen to only original speeches by people, and I just realized I couldn’t trust the mainstream media," he said.



 

In August 2017, a young woman died protesting against a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, as per ABC. Two days after that incident, then-President Trump told reporters, "I think there is blame on both sides."

Referring to the white nationalists, Trump noted, "You had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides."

Conservatives react to Mark Pincus' revelation

Netizens, primarily conservatives, were sympathetic toward Mark Pincus' revelation.

"This one lie was so, so many peoples’ red pill moment over the last election," wrote a person.



 

"The media has been a propaganda arm for the Democrats for a decade," alleged another.



 

"The media lying is a huge red pill moment for the average American. They just lie. The more you see it...you can't unsee it," claimed a third.



 

"When politicians lie this blatantly there should be a mechanism in politics to remove them from office immediately because we can no longer rely on the media to tell the truth & hold them accountable," noted one user.



 

"From the beginning, I only watched or listened to Trump in real time. I knew the media was trying to mislead the American people. It was obvious to me, but if you weren't really following Trump on a day to day basis, I could see how people were being fooled," shared another.



 

"The media needs to be reformed," demanded yet another.
