WASHINGTON, DC: Texas Senator Ted Cruz aimed at Vice President Kamala Harris, joking about her recent policy positions.

Cruz suggested that Harris’ policies were so closely aligned with Trump’s that she might even go as far as to "dye her skin orange" and "dye her hair blonde."

Kamala Harris and Donald Trump align on key policies

During the podcast 'Verdict with Ted Cruz,' Cruz and his co-host Ben Ferguson discussed Harris' stances on various issues, including taxes and border security.

“The first major policy provision she came out for was no taxes on tips. That was literally a proposal Donald Trump rolled out in Nevada," Cruz said.

He pointed out that Nevada is a critical battleground state this election year.

Cruz further discussed Harris’ position on electric vehicles, saying, “She also said this week she is not for an EV [electric vehicle] mandate. Suddenly, she loves her internal combustion engine.”

In an email sent on Tuesday, August 26, Harris's campaign rapid response director, Ammar Moussa, clarified, “FACT: Vice President Harris does not support an electric vehicle mandate.”

Ted Cruz also criticized Kamala Harris' stance on border security, referencing an article from Axios with the headline: “Harris flip-flops on border wall.”

The article highlighted Harris’ speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) where she mentioned she would sign the bipartisan border security bill which includes funding for border barriers.

"I’m going to break news right now... next week, I am reliably told from leaks within the White House that Kamala Harris plans to dye her hair blonde, dye her skin orange, and buy enormously long red ties and wear only those in public appearances,” he said referencing Trump’s signature look.

Ferguson added, "Beyonce's going to be in there with her doing the same thing," in reference of rumors about her and Taylor Swift's presence at the DNC.

Cruz then added, “Beyonce is going to be blonde and also with orange skin.”

Trump campaign claims Kamala Harris copied his  policies

Steven Cheung, Trump campaign's manager, also weighed in, telling Newsweek in an email that Kamala Harris has copied the former president's policies.

“Comrade Kamala has wildly changed her positions and copied President Trump’s policies because she is a fraud and a fake," the campaign stated.

"Everyone knows she’s a dangerous liberal and Socialist who has decimated the economy, allowed criminals across the border, and oversaw the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal that led to American deaths," the campaign added.
