Texas School for the Deaf honors ‘Godzilla vs Kong’ star Kaylee Hottle after her tragic death at 19
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND: Texas School for the Deaf has honored actress Kaylee Hottle after her untimely death on Tuesday, July 21.
Hottle, best known for her work in 'Godzilla vs Kong,' was 19 when she lost her life in a tragic car crash in Maryland.
Texas School for the Deaf says their 'hearts are with Kaylee's family, friends, classmates'
Following the tragedy, Texas School for the Deaf, where the young actress was a senior, remembered her in an emotional social media post.
The statement began, “It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news that one of our TSD seniors, Kaylee Hottle, tragically passed away yesterday in a car accident in Frederick, Maryland.”
“Our hearts are with Kaylee's family, friends, classmates, and everyone who knew and loved her during this incredibly difficult time,” it noted.
School requests privacy for Kaylee Hottle's family
The school further shared that they don’t know much about the tragedy but urged people to “respect the privacy of Kaylee's family and refrain from sharing or speculating about the circumstances surrounding the accident.”
The institution also mentioned that it is offering counseling and support services “for students and staff who may need them, with additional support being provided for Kaylee's classmates and friends.”
“Please keep Kaylee's loved ones in your thoughts as we mourn this tremendous loss together,” the statement added.
Kaylee Hottle was inside a 1995 Honda Accord when the accident happened
The ‘Godzilla vs Kong’ star was travelling in a 1995 Honda Accord, which was driven by 19-year-old Frederick man. There was one more passenger in the car as it “traveled off the right side of the two-lane roadway and struck a culvert,” as per a press release by the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.
“Excessive speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the collision,” the press release added.
Though the accident did not prove fatal for the driver and the other passenger, it killed Hottle, whose heart stopped working as she was taken to the hospital.
Kaylee Hottle's co-stars are devastated by her death
Later, her ‘Godzilla vs Kong’ co-stars Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, and Eiza Gonzalez paid tributes.
Brown wrote in an Instagram Story, “I'm so devastated to hear this. You will be deeply missed Kaylee.”
Hall shared, “Devastated to hear this news. My heart goes out to your family. You will be missed, Kaylee.”
“Kaylee. My heart is absolutely broken. I'm devastated. I adore you. I know heaven has the sweetest kindest girl in heaven. We will miss you terribly. Sending so much love to your beautiful family,” Gonzalez added.
