"October is breast cancer awareness month. I never thought I’d be making an announcement like this but here we are. Last December, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Triple Positive Breast Cancer. After completing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation I am now cancer free," she announced
"I wanted a photo of myself in my patchy pixie looking happy and healthy to go along with this news. A big thank you to Angela Kinsey’s husband Josh Snyder for taking this photo. It’s just one example of the care they showed me during this journey,” the post concluded.
Fischer recounted her experience, noting that it all started with an October 2023 mammogram that yielded “inconclusive results".
Reportedly, further tests led to the discovery of a lump, and a biopsy confirmed her diagnosis.
After months of battling through it, Fischer triumphantly shared that her treatment wrapped up over the summer and that she’s “feeling great".
According to Daily Beast, the actress isn’t just reflecting on her victory—she wants to use her story to encourage others to prioritize their health.

Fischer took her fans through the steps of her treatment.
In January, she underwent a lumpectomy to remove a portion of breast tissue, and while the cancer hadn’t spread, she took additional precautions.
She began chemotherapy in February, followed by radiation in June, and is continuing treatment with infusions of Herceptin and daily doses of Tamoxifen.
Reflecting on her current condition, Fischer shared, “I’m happy to say I’m feeling great.”
Jenna Fischer raises awareness about breast cancer
Jenna Fischer also explained in her recent post that she managed to keep her cancer journey private thanks to “some great wigs and hats with hair,” allowing her to maintain normalcy throughout her treatments.
However, Fischer has now chosen to go public, hoping to raise awareness about the importance of early cancer detection.
As per The Guardian, she urged her followers, “I’m serious, call your doctor right now. My tumor was so small it could not be felt on a physical exam. If I had waited six months longer, things could have been much worse.”
Along with advocating for early screenings, Fischer expressed solidarity with other women going through breast cancer diagnoses.

She highlighted the emotional and physical toll it takes, emphasizing how crucial it is to have a strong support system.

Fischer made a point to thank the “amazing village” of medical professionals, friends, and family who helped her along the way, including her 'Office' co-star and podcast co-host Angela Kinsey.
In a heartfelt gesture, Kinsey was the only colleague who knew about Fischer’s diagnosis for a long time, and she supported her friend through the most challenging moments.
“When I lost my hair, she wore hats to our work meetings so I wouldn’t be the only one. When I needed a break, we took one,” Fischer shared.
