WASHINGTON, DC: Donna Brazile, the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, remarked on Sunday that President Joe Biden needs to "speak out more," emphasizing her dismay that "nobody listens" to him when he does address the public, according to the New York Post.

During an interview on ABC's 'This Week,' Donna Brazile notably affirmed with "Absolutely" when asked if Biden should address the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine in public.

She then proceeded to criticize the media for their handling of Biden's public addresses.

She said, "Not just in Israel, Ukraine – we are a superpower. He is the commander-in-chief. Absolutely he should speak out more. And also, we should cover what he’s saying because often when he speaks, nobody listens."

Throughout his administration, it's notable that Biden has maintained a low profile in the media, engaging with the press significantly less than many of his predecessors.

In her lifetime she was an activist and writer known to be an advocate for the elderly, affordable housing, mental health, and the protection of monarch butterflies. According to political analyst Martha Kumar, no commander in chief since former President Ronald Reagan has held fewer news conferences than Biden.

Furthermore, when compared to the past six presidents during the same timeframe, Biden has also participated in fewer sit-down interviews.

In October, during his concluding address from the Oval Office, he urged Congress to approve over $100 billion in security and humanitarian aid for Taiwan, Israel, and Ukraine.

It's worth noting that it was only his second prime-time Oval Office speech as president.

Additionally, Democratic strategist Paul Begala remarked in February that, despite his tendency for mistakes, Biden should increase his visibility in front of cameras and microphones leading up to his rematch with former President Donald Trump in November.

During an appearance on CNN, Begala expressed, "I want to see more Joe Biden – the gaffes are built in."

It's worth noting that in front of large gatherings, Biden has frequently warned of potentially "getting in trouble" if he answers uninvited questions. At campaign stops and public events, the president has been heard asking staff members for permission to "take a couple of questions."

Internet stays divided after Donna Brazile's statement on Joe Biden

Online reactions to Donna Brazile's assertion that President Biden needs to "speak out more" and her observation that "nobody listens" to him when he does speak in public were divided, with people expressing mixed opinions.

A user wrote on X, "The fact that she still has a job in politics shows just how corrupt the entire system is," whereas one mentioned, "Because he's either lying or mumbling."

One person also wrote, "Is this the first time Donna Brazile has told the truth?" while another added, "They're tired of his lies...,"

A user added, "Well to be fair, nobody listens to her either."

A user also stated, "Hopefully nobody listens when Donna Brazile speaks," while another mentioned, "Since 2019, this has been the case. She just now sees this?"
