JUPITER, FLORIDA: Lara Lea Trump, wife of Eric Trump, the third child of Donald Trump, got herself in a bit of a mess when she took to her socials on Monday, December 11, to promote 'Barbie'-themed MAGA hats worth $47.

People have been befuddled with this merch promotion, considering a vast majority of Republicans slammed Greta Gerwig's very pink fantasy comedy when it was released as "too woke."

'Barbie' is now the highest-grossing movie ever made on a budget under $150 million and has reportedly collected more than $635 million at the North American box office, garnering a total of $1.44 billion worldwide, as per Statista.

Donald Trump's daughter-in-law Lara Trump's 'Barbie'-themed hats might be a trial at staying relevant

Lara, the former television producer and singer, posted a video of her sporting the 'Barbie'-themed MAGA cap with a caption that read, "Be a Trump girl, in a Trump world."

In the clip, Trump's daughter-in-law was seen sporting the cap and a bright pink tank top as a version of Barbie Girl by Aqua played in the background.

Interestingly, the cap seemed to be a part of her bright pink Halloween ensemble, and she termed herself the "MAGA Barbie."

Lara has been enjoying success lately, with her cover of Tom Petty's single 'I Won't Back Down' hitting the Billboard chart in early October. This cover has also achieved a legitimate win on more than one weekly ranking, according to Forbes.

Her cover, according to Luminate, has sold slightly fewer than 3,500 copies, putting it in the top tier of the list.

Lara Trump trolled over trying to sell 'Barbie'-themed MAGA merchandise

Soon after Lara Trump made the post promoting the 'Barbie'-themed MAGA cap, netizens flocked to slam her move of trying to advocate for her father-in-law.

One said, "Thanks. That entire thing and the hat is cringe," while another just remarked, "Cringe."

A user questioned its expensive pricing, saying, "Almost $50 for a hat. The grift never ends."

"Thank God you are selling merch and not singing," quipped a person, while someone else said, "The money is gone, Lara. Just give up."
