LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rep Tim Burchett (R-TN) has placed the blame for the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump squarely on the shoulders of the Secret Service’s DEI leader.

In a recent Fox News interview, Burchett blasted Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle and questioned her qualifications, accusing her of failing in her duties during the attack.

Secret Service under scrutiny for ignoring attendees' warning

The attack occurred on Saturday when Thomas Crooks fired at Trump from a rooftop near a rally in Pennsylvania, injuring the former president's right ear.

The Secret Service responded swiftly, neutralizing Crooks and ensuring Trump’s safety. However, the agency has come under scrutiny following revelations that rally attendees had warned law enforcement about Crooks climbing onto the roof with a rifle.

Tim Burchett criticizes Secret Service leadership and demands urgent accountability

In his Fox News appearance on Sunday, Burchett expressed his concerns and frustrations:

“You know, everything you all mentioned about the rooftop. I’ve talked to a marine sniper today, a SEAL sniper, former CIA operator, and they all said the same thing. How the hell did he get on top of that roof? If you look at the pictures, he didn’t go through the top of the roof. There had to be a ladder or something. Somebody dropped the ball.”

Burchett also aimed at Cheatle’s background, stating “You’ve got a DEI, basically, a DEI initiative person who heads up our Secret Service. You know, she was working at Pepsi before this. I know she was, a former CIA, Secret Service agent, but still, this is what happens when you don’t put the best players, and it’s a complete failure on our part.”

He further emphasized the urgency of accountability, saying “And, as I talked to Chairman Comer last night, I stressed with him. You know, everybody wants to follow the rules. We’ve got a 70, 72-hour rule before we have a, you know, can go a hearing…We need to get to Washington. You know, to hell with the convention. We’ve got to find out what went on. Make sure that it never happens again.”

Tim Burchett’s claims spark debate on Internet

Following Rep Tim Burchett’s controversial statements on Fox News, social media users have voiced a range of reactions.

One user wrote, "There were was no black person in secret service where you can. They are not the only minority that exists you know."

Another user commented, "Bruh, a 20-year-old white male registered Republican shot at a 78-year-old white male Republican nominee for president. Missed him and instead killed a 50-year-old white male Republican. All of whom failed to be properly protected by middle-aged white male secret service agents. Yet, somehow it’s this woman’s fault and the fault of diversity equity, and inclusion. What diversity? What equity? What inclusion? This was a white male-on-white male crime. Compounded by white male incompetence on the job. Minorities and women have nothing to do with this conversation."

One user replied, "Reminder, Burchett is a guniac who has said SECOND AMENDMENT SOLUTIONS is a good thing."

One added, "“It’s women’s fault that a Republican shot at Trump!”— MAGA clowns."

Another user stated, "— white male republican shoots Trump —Republicans: This is black people’s fault."

One user commented, ""It's because women and Black people" is the only argument the GOP has anymore, huh?"

One added, "It’s always been their excuse."
