This comes after Tom sought assistance from his middle son, Chet, to grasp the intricacies of the rap rivalry between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. 

Chet, who has experience as a rapper and reggae artist and possesses extensive knowledge of hip-hop, stepped in explain the feud to his father.

This chat exchange between Tom and Chet has been circulated across social media after Chet shared a screenshot of the exchange on his Instagram Stories. Notably he splitted it into two parts due to its length.

On Monday, May 20, the 67-year-old Academy Award winner sought details from his son regarding the ongoing drama between the two rap icons, as per People.

Fortunately, the 33-year-old musician was more than willing to provide insight. 

Tom reached out via text message, asking, "Big Main, can you explain the Drake/ Kendrick Lamar feud to me?"

Responding to his father's query, Chet detailed the situation, explaining, "Yeah, so Drake and this other dude J Cole been saying they along with Kendrick are the ‘Big 3’ in rap. Then Kendrick put out a song saying, ‘F**k the Big 3, it's just big ME initiating the beef.”  

He went on to highlight Drake's jabs at Lamar's "small feet" and Lamar's retaliation, branding Drake a "deadbeat dad". He also explained how both rappers leveled serious allegations against each other.

Chet continued, recounting Kendrick's subsequent diss track, where he dismantled Drake's persona and accused him of grooming underage girls and having a secret child.

Chet's narration continued, encapsulating Drake's counter-response, where he alleged he fed Kendrick false information to make him appear foolish. 

Summing up the feud's impact, Chet stated, "It didn't even matter Cuz then Kendrick just dropped another West Coast banger." 

To simplify the comparison for Tom, Chet drew a parallel to a past experience they shared at Tom's old school. 

Tom, astonished by the drama, said "Holy cow! These are fighting words." He then wanted to know the current situation between the rappers. "People taking sides??Who's winning??"

Chet, amused, reminded him of the details he just explained saying, “Did you not just read what I said", with laughing emojis.
