PARIS, FRANCE: Tom Holland and Zendaya's on-screen partnership has become just as popular as their real-life relationship. As excitement builds for 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day', Holland offered a glimpse into what he hopes the couple's next collaboration could look like.

Rather than another action-packed blockbuster, the actor revealed that he'd be interested in taking on a completely different genre with his co-star: a rom-com.

Tom Holland wants to explore new genre with Zendaya after 'Spider-Man'

Speaking during the 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' press tour, Holland said he would love to star alongside Zendaya in a musical rom-com. He shared that it would be a fun change from the action films they are known for.

"I think we'd make an amazing rom-com together. That would be really fun," Holland said. He then joked, "She could do the singing and the dancing, and I would do some of the dancing. That would be fun. A musical romantic comedy!"

Holland and Zendaya have starred together in three 'Spider-Man' movies, and their on-screen romance later turned into a real-life relationship. The couple, who are rumored to be married, remain one of Hollywood's most talked-about pairs.

Although there are no plans for them to star in a musical rom-com, Holland's comments have excited fans about the possibility.

Can Tom Holland and Zendaya pull off a genre switch?

Holland and Zendaya have already shared the screen in three 'Spider-Man' films, where they played Peter Parker and MJ. Their on-screen chemistry quickly became a fan favorite and later turned into a real-life romance.

So far, Holland and Zendaya's collaborations have been rooted in action and adventure. With 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' and 'The Odyssey' also falling into those genres, a musical rom-com would mark a fresh direction for the duo.

While neither actor is primarily known for movie musicals, both have experience with singing and dancing. Zendaya first gained recognition on Disney Channel's 'Shake It Up', a dance-focused series that showcased her performance skills.

Holland, meanwhile, has an extensive background in dance and musical theatre. Before becoming a Hollywood star, he trained as a dancer. He earned praise for playing the lead role in the West End production of 'Billy Elliot the Musical'.

While there are no such projects in the works, Holland's comments have left fans imagining what the couple could bring to a genre far removed from the superhero films that first brought them together.
