Tom Holland reveals ‘the biggest responsibility’ he has while portraying Spider-Man
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tom Holland has opened up about “the biggest responsibility” he has as he portrays 'Spider-Man' on the big screen.
The 30-year-old can currently be seen as Peter Parker in the new movie, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, which hit theaters on July 31. Earlier, he was seen in the same role in 2016's 'Captain America: Civil War', 2017’s ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, 2019’s ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, and 2021’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, among others.

Recently, while speaking with PEOPLE at the Los Angeles premiere of his latest release, Holland addressed the responsibility that comes along with the portrayal of one of the world’s most loved superheroes.
He said, “Oh, absolutely it does. For me, it is the biggest responsibility of making these movies is making sure that young kids have someone that they can look up to.”
“And I don’t mean that in me, I mean that in Peter Parker,” Holland asserted, before adding, “I’ve looked up to him for years and years. He’s been a role model to me since I was a young kid, and even since I started playing him. So it’s a responsibility that I don’t take lightly, and something that I think is really important.”
Tom Holland hints toward introduction of new Spider-Man
This came as ‘The Odyssey’ star shed light on the ‘Spider-Man’ franchise future and his succession plans in another interview.
Speaking on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, Holland said, “There’s a whole plan that we have been working on for, I would say, since we finished ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’”
“It’s gonna change for sure, but I have a really clear vision to the passing on of the baton, and I think it’s really exciting,” he stated but did not give details on who would be the next Peter Parker.

Also during the same podcast, the BAFTA Award-winning actor talked highly of other 'Spider-Man' projects.
“I think what also has been so fun over these last few years is that there’s so many different 'Spider-Man' mediums,” he shared.
Holland further noted, “We have 'Spider-Noir' that came out a few weeks ago, we have my version, we have the stuff that Sony’s been doing, we have the animated movies that Sony makes, which are just the best 'Spider-Man' movies that have ever been made, those animated movies. The heart in those movies is out of this world.”
